Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey said he should have acted smarter, after receiving a quick red card in the Gunners' 2-0 loss to Liverpool yesterday, in the League Cup semi-final second leg. The Ghanaian player issued a statement apologizing to Arsenal fans, after receiving two yellow cards a quarter of an hour after entering the field in the second half. The Ghanaian midfielder quickly returned to Arsenal, after his country's exit from the African Nations Cup, and was a surprising name on the bench against Liverpool, less than 48 hours after he played the Comoros match with Ghana at the end of the group stage of the continental championship.

The 28-year-old defended the moment he was sent off in an Instagram post, acknowledging that his tough nature is part of his personality. In addition to his publication, Al-Ghani also issued an official statement appended with his signature in the same matter.
