What is a leader? A leader can bring minds a variety of images. Being a leader is neither about the power granted by the people nor being arrogant and exhibit excessive version of confidence. It is a selfless dedication of going beyond what lies behind your title. It is not just organizing events, but it is empowering citizens to be part of the society. It is empowering people without compromising their right to decide. It is making yourself grow before you try to develop other people. Thus, when a leader control himself in critical times, how can he even lead his people?
In the society, it is a big factor to have leaders who willingly accept humiliations along the way of leading people, it is a way to show how selfless a leader is. Learn to accept criticisms, but not personally. Criticism only means that there is a call for attention to an unhealthy state of things. If there are no critics, it is likely that no one cares about your existence.
Hearing and sentiments from people around the society you are leading cannot be controlled and should not be controlled. For this only means that there is something wrong with the system of the government you are handling. The logic of bashing against the person complaining is actually a wrong way to handle the problem. Why not focus on finding out what is wrong with the government rather than having attention out of personal statements? Sometimes, a leader wants everything to be perfect, that in the end it to turned to nothing.
Intelligence is just a small portion of becoming a good leader, because there are leaders who lack ethics in terms of dealing with other people in the society. Being a leader is never easy. Sometimes, ‘leaders’ compromise their time for their families just to do major decisions and plans that will make the society better.
All of us are not exempted of mistakes. But we can always push harder to correct our actions. Yes you are the leader, but remember who put you in that position.
