19th century for me is the great foundation for the country today. There were major growth, developments, and events that served as a stepping-stone into better Philippines as to what it is now. To emphasize, there are number of significant growth that happened in the country. First to mention is the Growth and Development of Nationalism. It was very slow, loyalty to the nation began only after the unjust execution of Fathers Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora in 1872. However, second thing is the Rise and Gradual Spread of Liberalism and Democracy, it was the effect of the growth and development of nationalism. Due to this rise, democracy was gradually established through recognizing human rights. Next major change is the Industrial Revolution, which is one of the most crucial developments in 19th century. The invention of machines and use of manufacturing brought significant changes in people’s lives. It was a great deal for the country since the Economy had grown significantly. It was a major pleasure to the country because for me, the country’s road to more advancements is the rise of the economy. Also, The Advancement of Science took place. The 19th century was time for expansion of scientific and technological knowledge making the route to truth and objective reality. Next were The Resurgence of Western Imperialism and the Optimism and Confidence in Progress.
