Why sleep is important?

Your mental and physical health and how well you feel during the day are influenced directly by the quality of your sleep at night. Your efficiency, emotional balance, brain and heart health, immune function, creativity, stamina, and even your weight are affected by sleep. For so little effort, no other option provides so many benefits!

However, if you are struggling to fulfill the requirements of a busy schedule, or just finding it hard to sleep at night, it can seem like a smart solution to get by on fewer hours. But even modest lack of sleep can take a major toll on your mood, stamina, mental sharpness, and stress management ability. And chronic sleep loss will wreak havoc on your mental and physical health over the long term.

Sleep is not just a time when your body gets turned off. Your brain remains active as you rest, supervising biological maintenance that keeps the body working in top shape, preparing you for the day ahead. You won't be able to work, study, develop, and connect at a level even close to your true potential without enough hours of restorative sleep. Skimp on "service" regularly and you're heading for a serious mental and physical breakdown.

The good news is that you do not have to choose between efficiency and wellbeing. Your energy, productivity, and overall health will improve by resolving any sleep issues and making time to get the sleep you need each night. Actually, during the day, you'll probably get much more done than if you were skimping on shuteye and trying to work longer.

Goodnight everyone!
