Suicidal thoughts? Take this immediate actions

Promise not to do anything for the time being.

Allow some space between your thoughts and actions, even though you're in a lot of pain right now. Make yourself a promise: "I will wait 24 hours and will not do anything drastic during that time." Alternatively, you could wait a week.

Suicidal thoughts do not have to become a reality; they do not have to become a reality. There is no time limit, and no one is pressuring you to move on these ideas right away. Please hold your horses. Allow some time to pass between your suicidal thoughts and your suicidal behaviour.

Drugs and alcohol should be avoided.

Suicidal thoughts can intensify if you've consumed drugs or alcohol. When you're feeling hopeless or contemplating suicide, it's important not to use nonprescription medications or alcohol.

Make your house safe.

Take away any items that might cause you harm, such as drugs, knives, razors, or weapons. If you are unable to do so, seek refuge in a secure environment. Send your drugs to someone who will return them to you one day at a time when you need them if you're worried of taking an overdose.

Don't keep your suicidal thoughts to yourself.

Many of us have discovered that sharing suicidal thoughts and feelings with someone we trust is the first step toward coping. At the end of a helpline, it may be a family member, neighbour, therapist, clergy member, instructor, family doctor, coach, or an experienced counsellor.

Find someone you can confide in and tell them how bad things are. Allowing fear, guilt, or humiliation to keep you from getting help is a mistake. Also, if the first person you contact doesn't seem to get it, try another. Simply talking about how you got to this point in your life will relieve a lot of the stress and assist you in finding a way to cope.

People DO get through this, so don't lose heart.

And people who are feeling as bad as you are right now tend to get through it. Don't lose faith. Regardless of how much self-loathing, hopelessness, or loneliness you are actually experiencing, you are very likely to experience these feelings. Give yourself the time you need and don't try to do it on your own.
