Faced with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, players in the video game industry and players are demonstrating unprecedented mobilization and generosity. Since the start of the conflict, donations have continued to increase and have reached more than 160 million euros.

For several years, Ukraine and video games have been closely linked. In 2021, the IT Ukraine association listed more than 200,000 developers in the country and the presence of many major industry players such as the French Ubisoft and Gameloft shows that the country plays a leading role in the sector. So when Ukraine found itself under Russian assault, it didn't take long for video game publishers to launch initiatives to support the country.

On February 24, the Polish studio 11-Bits expressed its wish to donate part of the profits from its game "This War of Mine" to humanitarian associations present in Ukraine. A few days later, the company announced that it had recovered 780,000 euros. The Japanese publishers Bandai Namco, author of the game of the moment "Elden Ring", and Square Enix offered 772,000 euros and 455,000 euros respectively in mid-March.
