Various unique ways for each country to welcome a special day or month for certain circles. Like the Muslim community around the world, they have unique ways of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. Apart from being physically and mentally, we also don't forget that there are traditions that are still being carried out to this day.

Like what happened in my country Indonesia especially in the westernmost province of Indonesia namely Aceh. We have a tradition that has been around for a long time, even since the time of Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636). We call it the Meugang tradition. The Meugang tradition is the tradition of cooking meat and enjoying it with family, relatives and orphans. Meugang is also carried out before Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

Cooking and eating meat may be normal but if you cook it on a special day it will feel different. Many meat traders will emerge to make a profit from this meugang tradition. And the price of meat will usually be higher than usual. The price of beef this year is 180,000 rupiah or $12. And parents will try to be able to buy meugang meat for their children.

And I was also busy cooking meat for the family this morning. I cooked beef rib soup and beef curry. Cooking beef bone soup is something you can't miss because this dish is a favorite of my family, especially my children. You like to cook bone soup, you can follow my recipe :

Ingredients :

Beef ribs 1 kg

Potato

Carrot

Spice :

Garlic

Red onion

White pepper

Candlenut

For spices :

Clove

Withered

Bay leaf

Tomato

Celery leaves

How to make :

  1. The beef bones are cleaned first with lime juice and salt. Then boil until the gravy is thick and the beef bones dissolve for 5-7 minutes.

  2. Then drain the bones and wash thoroughly so that the fat content on the bones is slightly reduced and the gravy is not too fatty.

  3. Then boil the bones again later for the cooking process. Next, grind the spices and stir-fry with a little oil then add the stir-fried spices into the sauce while stirring until the spices blend together and dissolve. Next, add salt, lemongrass, cloves.

  4. If the meat on the bone is slightly loose or almost tender. Add potatoes and carrots. Continue to cook until the gravy is cooked.

  5. Turn off the heat, finally add the chopped tomatoes and celery leaves.

  6. Beef rib soup is ready to eat
