The 2022/2023 local wisdom themed school project was successfully implemented
Last Saturday, the school where I teach has successfully implemented the latest learning curriculum school project, namely the independent curriculum. The independent curriculum for school learning in Indonesia is a curriculum designed by the government and first formed in February 2022 as one of the Merdeka Learning programs to improve the quality of learning. The Merdeka curriculum focuses on essential material and on developing the character of the Pancasila Student Profile. One of the independent curriculum programs is to make school projects with various themes. This year's school project theme is about local wisdom.
Was it a school project?
School projects are project-based learning, which is learning that uses projects as media in the learning process to achieve soft skills, hard skills, and character. As a worker, of course you often hear the word project and often even get involved in it. The project itself is actually an attempt to produce goods or services and lasts for a while. A project certainly has a beginning and an end. So, for 2 school years we made school projects with different themes.
The first year is about the global climate change project for turning organic waste into compost. And the second year is a school project with the theme of local wisdom from utilizing various plants to become medicine and introducing snacks typical of our country, Indonesia. This project was introduced to produce a product. So, yesterday was the last activity of the school project. The theme of the second semester project is making snacks typical of Indonesia
For about 3 months we carried out this project with the students. This project is carried out every Saturday in 10 meetings, starting with introducing students to how to instill Pancasila character in students. The so-called Pancasila students
The characteristics of Pancasila students include
1) Faith, piety to God Almighty and noble character
2) Independent
3) Collaborate
4) Global diversity
5) Critical reasoning
6) Creative
Then tell their goals in the business world, design their dreams in doing business etc. Doing business is accompanied by good character as a businessman later.
The last project school activities
Last Saturday was the last activity after doing design and observation activities. We, teachers and students, practice what we have designed, namely making traditional snacks from our country to produce products, all of which are students who work under the guidance of the teacher.
The cake we made was sponge cake. Sponge cake is a product made from wheat flour or other types of flour with the addition of other ingredients to add nutrients which is processed by steaming or baking. All the ingredients needed to make this product or cake from the stove, cake ingredients, oven, mixer, etc.
The cake we made was banana cake. So cake with banana flavor. All students enthusiastically did it even though they experienced a bit of confusion when we directed them. The thing they like the most is when mixing the dough. You can see their activities in the photos of the school project activities below.
We do it until we produce all the products until it's finished and continue eating together
The cake we made and the results of this activity will be displayed in the exhibition of the Pancasila student profile project in June later entitled market day all the product video images that we have made will be displayed later and assessed by the head of the driving school Because not all schools are doing this project only drive school. Mobilizing Schools are schools that focus on developing student learning outcomes holistically by realizing the Pancasila Student Profile which includes competence and character that begins with superior human resources (principals and teachers).
