An abnormal mass of tissue that is formed when cells grow and are more divided or do not die when they must. Tumors are of three main categories :benign (which is not cancerous), premalignant which is near to cancerous or malignant (cancerous). Benign tumors may be large but do not spread or invade nearby tissue or other parts of the body. Malignant tumors can spread or attack nearby tissue. They can also spread through the blood and lymph system to other parts of the body. It is also called neoplasm.

Types

Benign: these are not cancers. They either can't spread or grow, or they do very slowly. If a doctor removes them, they don't usually come back. Premalignant: in these tumors, the cells are not yet cancerous, but have the potential to be malignant. Malignant tumors, malignant tumors are cancerous and these types of tumors can easily grow and they do not stay in one place and move to other parts of the body.

Why body cells start to divide abnormally

Our bodies are made up of trillions of cells to form tissues and organs. Genes within the nucleus of each cell tells when to grow, work, divide and die. In general, our cells follow these instructions and we stay healthy. But a gene can change when there is any change or damage to our DNA. Altered genes do not work properly as the instructions are found in their DNA. It can cause cells that must rest to divide and grow, which can cause cancer. Mutation may occur incidentally when the cell is splitting. Sometimes, cells are unable to understand its instructions and this condition leads to mutation. It can start getting out of control.

Healthy Lifestyle

Quit smoking because the chemicals in cigarette smoke can damage the surrounding of the body by entering our blood and smoking is a major cause of many types of cancer. 25 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 5 times a week is very essential for a healthy internal system. Experts say exercise can help protect against cancer by reducing inflammation, controlling weight, and increasing the immune system. Free radicals can damage cellular DNA because they are an uneven number of atoms in the body, and they greatly contribute to the growth of cancer. Antioxidants work by detecting free radicals and neutralizing their harmful effects. It helps keep more cells of the body healthy and reduces the risk of becoming cancerous. Spinach, berries, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and many other foods are the best sources of antioxidants.
