There are hundreds of species of recently extinct animals, depending on the time scale used. Many of these extinctions are due to human activities. It can take the form of direct intervention such as unlawful hunting and indirect interference such as destruction of habitat. 

The poisonous frog or splendid poison, the floating frog poison, was a breed of dart frog that was native to the end of western panama. Deforestation and habitat degradation are the main threat to the wonderful poison frog. Human activities such as logging, expansion of urban and suburban areas, and construction and use of rail lines played an important role in the extinction of frogs.

Chinese paddlefish is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world and it is found most in the Yangtze river in Asia. Many surveys failed to detect the presence of species and therefore it was declared extinct in December 2019. 

The baiji white dolphin, also known as the Chinese dolphin, can only be found in the Yangtze river in China. These mammals can grow up to eight feet long and a quarter ton by weight. Because of their small eyes and very little sight, they used to travel for hunting and to hunt. After living for 20 million years in Yangxi, their Numbers have drastically decreased since 1950.

The biggest threat to our planet is human beings. Our world population is increasing millions every year. All these people are using more and more resources for other generations of the earth.

Buy recycled paper, durable products such as bamboo and forest stewardship council wood products to protect forest breeds. Never buy furniture made of wood from rainforests. Recycle your cell phones, as minerals used in cell phones and other electronics are extracted in gorilla's habitat. Minimize the use of palm oil because forests where lions live are being cut to plant palm gardens.
