Hi friends! I hope you are all doing well. Welcome here. Health is a great blessing of God so we should take care of it. Today we are going to talk about free radicals. I know many people are not aware about free radicals and how they affect our health. But don't worry after reading this article you will be aware of free radicals, its harm and how we can protect ourselves from free radicals.


Actually free radicals are naturally produced in our body as a byproduct of metabolism but when they produce in excess amounts then this is called oxidative stress and it's really bad for our body because it slowly damages the body's healthy cells and ultimately leads to different diseases. Actually free radicals are molecules that contain an uneven number of electrons. Although the lifespan of these free radicals are too short, about a few seconds, during that time they can cause serious health problems. Now we discuss how the excessive number of free radicals are produced in the body. 



Foods that are rich in carbohydrates and sugars which are also called glycemic food highly increase the amount of free radicals in the body. Moreover Uv exposure, smoking, consumption of artificial sweeteners and alcohol also triggers free radicals in the body. Skincare products that contain high concentrations of parabens and exposure to insecticides and pesticides also enhance the production of free radicals in the body. So, always try to use organic skincare products because parabens slowly ruins your skin and ultimately leads to premature aging. 


So these free radicals Whether you get it orally or externally can cause serious damages like, they increase the amount of bad cholesterol or LDL in the body which clog arteries of the heart which can develop different heart problems. 


Parkinson's is a brain disorder in which a patient can't stabilize himself while walking and the patient feels shaking and stiffness in the brain. Actually in this disease essential nerve cells in the brain are lost, and seriously free radicals is one of the biggest causes of this disease. Those people who live more time near pesticides, herbicides and other farming chemicals without proper safety have more chances to develop Parkinson's disease. 


As you all know about a very common chemical which is hydrogen peroxide which has bleaching properties. This is a very harmful chemical and can act as free radical. Always be conscious during its use, it is very toxic so, never inhale it. 


Now I am going to tell you about the best solution against free radicals which is also called free radical scavengers yes! Antioxidants are too good against free radicals. If you take your daily diet with little antioxidants, then it's very bad, because we need more antioxidants on a daily basis. Always try to consume more antioxidants.

Vitamin C is a rich source of antioxidants, and you can get vitamin C from citrus fruits like oranges, lemon, berries and mangoes. Vegetables like spinach and capsicum are also a very good source of vitamin C. Minerals like zinc, selenium and manganese are also very crucial sources of vitamin C, and we can get these minerals from daily  food easily like seafood, nuts, egg yolks and milk. Beta carotene is also a very good antioxidant which we can easily get from carrots, sweet potatoes and lettuce. Always try to eat carrots in raw form to get extra benefits.

Actually antioxidants boost your immune system and increase your body's capabilities to fight with pathogens. On the other hand antioxidants diminishes the effect of free radicals by donating them required electrons. 

Antioxidants are best fighters against free radicals and protect all your body cells including nerve cells. 
Black coffee is a rich source of antioxidants, but make sure that you drink coffee simply without milk and sugar to get required benefits. Black coffee deeply clarifies your body and excrete all the harmful chemicals from the body via urine. If you are not a coffee lover, then you can replace it with green tea which also has powerful antioxidants.
