Before I start, come on guys, lets be real. Aren’t we all so caught up with older people telling us we are responsible for the World’s future? And that, “children are the hope of the future?”
It’s true that we are at some point the hope of the future but people tend to give all the responsibility to us. Stressing us over the problems that the world is facing today. Like grow up, be great, be kind, be helpful, clean the environment, do this and do that. Solve this and solve that for the problems that they have done during their time. What were they doing then? Did they just leave it up for the following generations to solve their problem?
If we do not stand up for this, this cycle will just keep on going on. That is why, I believe we should cut the cycle and actually do our part. Do what we’re expected to do. Let’s grow, let’s be great and lets be kind. Let us prove them that the youth of today are not those who they think we are.
If they say the youth of today are irresponsible then let’s be responsible. If they say that we are careless, then let’s care for each other and if they say we are disconnected, then let’s connect. Why do we always just accept what other people say to us? We need to prove them wrong. We are not all negative, we are young, kicking and empowered. We do things our way.
The problem here is not us youth being lost at all. We are not lost. The problem is that other people stopped doing something good for the world just because they think they’re old, that they have done their part, and that it’s no longer their job but ours, youth.
I am writing here not just for us youth to open our eyes to our responsibility but also to open the eyes of other people who gave up. We need you. We can do so much if we stick together. The problems can not be solved with just us, youth. We need experienced, brave and strong people. Once we solve the problems of the world together, it becomes a privilege, an honor. I rest my case.
This is very uplifting and motivating! I'm fortunate in that I've grown up in an environment that encourages teens/young people to go out to do impactful things, often with the help of adults but yeah, I'm glad that someone points out that adults should still pull their weight and not dump so much much of their issues onto kids.
