Shahid Afridi, born Sahibzada Muhammad Shahid Khan Afridi on March 1, 1975 [4] is a Pakistani cricketer. He played 27 Tests, 350 ODIs and 59 Twenty20 Internationals for the Pakistan national team between 1996 and 2012. They first played an ODI match against Kenya on October 2, 1996. He played his first Test match on October 22, 1998 against Australia.
On October 4, 1996, Afridi scored the fastest ODI century in just 37 balls. [5] He held the record for 12 years, until Corey Anderson broke it in 2013. []] He scored 32 runs in a single over, the highest ever in an ODI. [7] He has also hit the most sixes in the history of ODI cricket. [8] He holds the record for most wickets taken by Pakistan in T20. Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastari called him a "boom boom".
