Have you ever take a mirror and peek yourself apart? Do you often worry about what you look like? and say to yourself, it,s "no big deal!" But. the way

you peek at yourself, and how you "talk" to yourself daily make an effect on your life. One of the hugest influences on teenage girls is the media. The media boosts body image. clothes. and fast food. And also they push weight loss with unrealistic results at the same time. The mixture of all the above drives teenage girls down the road to eating disorders and a confused self-image. If you are not happy with who you are it is unlikely for you to be a good friend and also a good student. But if your mind is on what you do not like about yourself and your body, then you will be rejecting the good things that make you experience life positively and leaving you with a negative view of the world. This attitude affects how you treat other people. how well you do in your studies. and how you deal with situations on a day to day basis. Imagine all the things you will be missing when you are spending all of your time thinking about how you look!

There is a common issue among teenage girls eating disorders. Eating disorders refer to negatively seeing your body and food. For example. if you were to eat a piece of pizza. then go to the mirror and tell yourself that you should not have done that, as you ate more than you should have. you are negatively looking at food.

Food keeps everyone alive. Without the proper amounts of vitamins and minerals, the body would not work well. Still, teenagers, see food as the enemy. In the process of saying that food is the enemy. the media is saying that fast food is an immediate and easy way to eat. Their target audience is teenagers. In essence, teenagers are getting a mixed message. Like, eat fatty load on the run. look good. and the only way sees how to do this is by unrealistic means.

Girls are taught from an early age that the key to success is beauty. For example. the commercial media pays no attention to the girl's minds and life goals.

Rather. they show, Naomi Campbell. Nikki Taylor. and other popular models. telling us mat this is what you should go for. There is a well-known Body Shop slogan that says. "There are three billion women who don't look like supermodels and only eight who do.” Yet millions of women avoid meals. skip dessert. and treat food as their enemy just to look like the impossibly thin women on today's magazine cover. Even those who love and support you might be accidentally steering you into hurtful behaviors. Seeing a parent or loved one going on strict diets or exercising a lot. you might think that what they are doing is normal, maybe you will even be encouraged then to diet and exercise as much as they do. While they believe they are trying to teach you good habits. they might surely be teaching you to do things that hurt your body.

Usually, when you go on diets. you eat foods that are low in the nutrients that your body needs like calcium and iron. These things keep you sharp and strong. Your body will not work well without them. While calories might seem bad to a dieter when you have fewer calories in your diet. and less nutritious food, you are actually taking out one of the things your body needs to conserve energy.

So what do you do? While it is never easy to change your body. Butt, it is easier to change your body image. Counseling is very important. To change the way you see yourself, you need to know why you feel the way you do. Are you a self-critical person, or does someone makes you feel bad about yourself?

It takes work to stare at a model in a magazine and understand that she is probably airbrushed, meaning that photographers and artists used computer programs to remove any blemishes and add certain shapes to her body. The girls on the covers of magazines may not have the abs you are taught to think they do.

With the proper lighting and computer work, anybody can look like a "model."

Body image has a great impact on girls. Whether they grow up to be doctors, lawyers. housewives. or any career they choose. The burden of how the look causes girls to turn to eat disorders and drastic behavior. it's worrisome how those teenage girls feel this way. but it is the reality of today. But how can this problem be solved? Maybe there could be more regular and plus-sized models in magazines and on television. Fewer ads for diets. I don't really know the answer to this problem, but it does need to be solved.
