If anyone ask me what is the best time of your life?
Then I will say without any hesitation that it is my childhood time. Because my childhood time was very memorable. There are so many stories happened in my life at that time, that until now I'm still keeping in my heart. I used to play different types of sports outside our house with my friend all day long. When I remember those times, I want to go back to that memorable childhood, although it is impossible because we cannot travel back in time.
Now I will share with you the most tragic story by my grandma during my childhood. Can anyone imagine what happened? Okay I am going to tell it.
My grandmother enjoys telling us stories, and I thoroughly enjoyed too hear her various stories, that was really so interesting. Sometimes it's about her personal life, sometimes with different genre, stories and poems that can make us laugh.
This story was about my grandma's experience way back 1971, when the Pakistani military attack Bangladesh. At that time they were going to kill the people of this country wherever they could find them. That people of this country had to live in fear and panic. Even all of people were afraid to go to their own homes because the Pakistani military would go from house to house and shoot people. They rape, kill, and take some women to their camps to torture them physically and mentally, and also use them to be their cook.
That's why my grandmother's parents were so scared as they had three young daughters in their family. My grandmother told me that during the war they hid in various forests and mountain caves so that the invading forces could not find them. Because if they found them, they would kill them immediately, which is why they would run away. At that time they did not get proper food and drink and they used to spend their days drinking water and eat foods available at the forest. My grandma used to say "how long we would run away like this"
The brave boys of Bengal formed resistance from house to house against the invading forces. And Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave them necessary training and leadership to these wars. During the war, 11 sectors were formed under his leadership all over Bangladesh and a commander and a sub commander were appointed in each sector. Through them the Pak aggressor forces attacked various camps.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a great leader of the ruling party of Bangladesh. He held a huge public meeting on March 7, 1931 with all classes of people and gave them directions on how to prepare for war and how to resist them. At the end of that public meeting, he gave a historic speech that is still written in the pages of history. The statement was that when we have given blood, we will give more if necessary, but we will release the people of this country Inshallah.
Thus there was a bloody war for nine long months and 3 million people of Bangladesh were martyred in this war. But the victory belongs to Bangladesh. My grandma said that it was the best victory of Bangladesh still now.
There are no winners in wars, whatever the reason, every war is bloody and death. Unfortunately, women and children are always the victims of wars.
