A work of art born after reading Rubén Darío's poem '.

(Félix Rubén García Sarmiento; Metapa, 1867 - León, 1916) Nicaraguan poet who was the initiator and maximum representative of Spanish-American Modernism. In formal, stylistic and musical brilliance, there is hardly any author in the Spanish language who equals Darío of the first stage, the fully modernist stage of Azul (1888) and Prosas Profanas (1896). When his aestheticism diminished, and the ideal of art for art's sake gave way to new concerns, his masterpiece, Cantos de vida y esperanza (1905), emerged, in which the absolute mastery of form no longer has mere beauty as its only objective, but serves to express an anguished intimacy or socio-historical concerns, such as the future of Hispanic America.

Transcendent compositions appear in other books of his: El canto errante (1907), Poema del otoño y otros poemas (1910), with pieces such as Margarita, está linda la mar... and Los motivos del lobo, and the book containing his most extensive composition, Canto a la Argentina, which with other poems was published in 1914. Among his prose works (not counting Los raros and the prose pieces contained in Azul), it is worth mentioning Peregrinaciones (1901), La caravana pasa (1902) and Tierras solares (1904), among other works of lesser interest concerning travels, political impressions or autobiographical notes.

I invite you to read the poem Los Motivos del Lobo and understand how my work was born. Here is the link:

Process

I made the sketch in 2022 after reading the poem as the client suggested. Whenever I am commissioned to paint a work with a specific theme, I always give my clients a sketch so they can see if it is what they want or if they want to suggest changes. In this case, my client loved the sketch and that's how I set out to paint with total freedom.

This is how my work of art turned out
