I am Macarre art: life, light and color
Every stage of my life is and has been like the one I had to live and would live again.
I am an extremely romantic woman, clinging to love as a way of life, that is why I have been, am and I believe I will be faithful until I am called from this earthly world; the luck I have had and have, is that so far I have been reciprocated very well in that aspect.
I am also very passionate about everything related to art in all its branches, opera, for example, transports me to a magical world of sounds, sculpture to the figure of other dimensions and painting, which is my artistic life, which takes me to a parallel world, where only my paintings, my canvases, my brushes and me remain.
In my character some say that I am very strict with myself, I demand the maximum in everything I undertake to stand out, I like to learn and more if it is related to my passions, I am one of those who think that to achieve what you want you have to venture, explore all possibilities and face the challenges that are put in the way.
I am the most sentimental woman on the planet, I cry for everything, one of my most marked weaknesses, but I also enjoy my moments of peace and joy, like when I am with my husband, my children, with myself when I paint and write.
My name is Maria Lorena Carrero, Venezuelan living in Costa Rica, mother of two adults, a 31 year old gentleman and a beautiful 30 year old lady, also grandmother of our only grandson, 4 years old, who lives far away from us and whom we have not been able to enjoy.
I am a preschool teacher, writer and illustrator of children's stories and currently a visual artist. After retiring from the classroom I wrote my first and only book of children's stories: Colección entre Patas y Grillos. Fables for girls and boys (still unpublished) and then I dedicated myself completely to painting.
As an artist I have 2 solo exhibitions, 11 exhibitions in museums and galleries in Venezuela and 8 international virtual exhibitions, and already known in the art world as MACARRÉ.
I have in turn the joy of in 2015 having won first prize at the IX Divina Pastora Salon of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Art in Barquisimeto, Lara state. Venezuela.
Now, with respect to my current life as a migrant, I must say that no one knows what it is like to go through this situation until you live it, because I tell you: "It is not easy", after having everything (both material and family) to go to have nothing and start again with the closest to one only and one or another necessary piece of furniture.
But I am not complaining, life is hitting all of us Venezuelans hard and this in my opinion is a rebirth of new generations with different perspectives that will raise Venezuela from the ashes and make it bloom again as the most beautiful flower in Latin America.
