Bangladesh Army
The Bangladesh Army is a ground branch of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The rest are Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force. The main task of the armed forces is to protect the sovereignty of Bangladesh and the integrity of its territory and to protect its motherland from external enemy attacks. Besides, to deal with any emergency situation of the country by the order of the government if necessary.
His Excellency the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The head of this force is a high-ranking officer of the rank of General. The current army chief is General Aziz Ahmed. The Chief of Army Staff is called the Chief of Army Staff or CAS.
Dhaka Cantonment is the headquarters of Bangladesh Army.
The motto of the Bangladesh Army is, we are at peace in war, we are everywhere in the country and "March" is going on.
This force will always show loyalty to the constitution of Bangladesh. Water, land and air will always be obliged to obey the orders of the superior master.
This armed force was formed on 21 November 1971 during the Great War of Liberation. That is why this day is celebrated as Bangladesh Armed Forces Day.
During the war of liberation the expatriate government of Bangladesh was formed and retired Colonel Ataul Gani Osmani was given charge of this force. He later became a general.
The present Bangladesh is going through the "Forces Goal 2030" plan for the modernization of the Armed Forces.
At present, there are 31 proposed and permanent cantonments in Bangladesh. At present, the force has about 1.5 lakh manpower. There are also 13,000 civilian personnel.
This includes the first and largest Comilla cantonment in Bangladesh located at Mainamati in Comilla. Which is the headquarters of the 33rd Infantry Division.
Jessore Cantonment is the headquarters of the 55th Infantry Brigade.

Bangladesh Armament Factory. The largest military equipment factory in the country. It is located in Gazipur.
Besides, there is Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory in Gazipur.
There is Bangladesh Military Academy or BMA in Bhatiari of Chittagong. It is basically a training center for Bangladesh Army Navy and Air Force officers. Which is affiliated to Bangladesh University of Professionals. After graduating from high school, an officer carat is awarded a bachelor's degree from here. Here, three long years of rigorous military training are given. Which is known as the "Long Course".
The senior officers of Border Guard Bangladesh were appointed from the commission officers of Bangladesh Army. Note that the Border Guard is a paramilitary force in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Army is mainly divided into several parts. Engineers, Signals, Services, Ordinances, Military Police or MP, Horse Livestock and Farm and Medical Corps.
The names of a large regiment here are East Bengal Regiment and Bangladesh Infantry Regiment or Bir. There is also the Presidential Guard Regiment or PGR.
To play a leading role in world peace, the Bangladesh Army participated in the United Nations peacekeeping mission for the first time in 1986. It was first deployed in Iraq and Namibia that year. The initiative was taken by former President Hussain Mohammad Ershad.
The Bangladesh Army participated in Operation Desert Storm with the multinational forces on behalf of the Allies in the 1991 Gulf War. This was the first deployment of the army outside the UN mission. Bangladesh is proud to be the largest contributor to the UN peacekeeping force.
The Bangladesh Army participated in the Great Liberation War and the Gulf War. Also operates Chittagong Hill Tex Insurgency, Operation Thunderbolt, Operation Twinlight.
Inter Services Public Relations / ISPR or Inter-Services Public Relations is the media and news agency of Bangladesh Armed Forces. Which provides information about the military to the people of Bangladesh and the media.
The three heroes of the great liberation war were members of this force. They are Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir of the Engineering Corps, Hamidur Rahman of the East Bengal Regiment and Mostafa Kamal of the East Bengal Regiment.
