Terrorism and militancy are a hot topic in today's world. The whole world is shaken by the attack of militancy today. Militant attacks on vulnerable and easily targeted people are increasing day by day. No nation in the world is free from this attack. These wars, killings and destructive activities in the name of militancy are never desirable for world humanity. If militancy continues like this, it will one day engulf the whole world. So everyone must work together against militancy. The country and the world must be saved from the black clutches of militants.

What is a militant? : Jung is a Persian word. In Urdu and Persian it is used in the sense of war. Jung means war and militant means warrior, fighter. Militant is a synonym for Persian and Urdu. Those who wage an armed struggle against unjust oppression and oppression and for the rights of the disenfranchised in the name of justice are looked upon with respect and branded as militants. At present some misguided people are misusing the word militant. They are using Islam to destroy the lives of hundreds of innocent people. They have become the people of the civilized world and are behaving like the wild people living in the forest. As a result, the word militant has become a terror today.

Militant activities: Militant activities can be conducted individually or in groups. The militants want to introduce the religious or political ideas or philosophies formulated by their organization in the life of the society or the state to fulfill their special purpose. To this end, they use leaflets, posters, booklets and other techniques to spread their ideas. Many times they confess to the killings or destructive acts committed by them. They conduct their activities using modern information technology such as e-mail, mobile, Facebook, Twitter etc. The idea of militants is that they are being led in the right direction, they always have a stubborn attitude. Role of Police in Suppressing Militancy: Bangladesh Police Force plays a major role in maintaining law and order, security of life and property of the people, prevention and suppression of crime. Especially in the last one decade, Bangladesh Police has shown efficiency in suppressing and controlling militancy. The heroism and success of Bangladesh Police in suppressing militancy in the country has earned a reputation all over the world. Recently, Bangladesh Police has succeeded in suppressing militancy in Holy Artisan Restaurant, Sholakia Eidgah Maidan, Kalyanpur in the capital, Ashkona, Atia Mahal in Sylhet, Moulvibazar Tongi, Narayanganj, Sitakunda in Chittagong. Police members with their innovative ability and professionalism are constantly showing creativity in combating militancy. Public rallies have been held in different parts of the country in support of the Bangladesh Police to curb militancy and crime, which is a sign of the people's confidence in the force. Once accused of bribery and corruption, this force has become a force of pride for the people with its professionalism and sense of responsibility towards the people. The role of Bangladesh Police in curbing militancy is discussed below:

1. Establishment of STG: The Police Headquarters has formed a new unit called Special Task Force Group (STG) to curb militancy. This unit is working to suppress militancy all over the country. Officials at the police headquarters said the STG had assisted the police department in uncovering the murder of Japanese national Kunio Hoshi in Rangpur, arresting militants involved in attacks in different parts of the country and arresting militants threatening prominent people.

2. Establishment of CTTC: Bangladesh Police has formed Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) in 2016 following the Zero Tolerance Policy to suppress terrorism and militancy. This unit of the police is playing a special role in suppressing militancy all over the country. In recent times, this special branch of the police has been successful in a number of operations to curb militancy.

3. Establishment of Anti-Terrorism Unit: In 2016, Bangladesh Police formed a special branch called Anti-Terrorism Unit to suppress terrorism and militancy. This unit of the police is working relentlessly to suppress terrorism and militancy. This branch of the police is also playing an important role in suppressing various crimes.

4. Proposal of Bangladesh Police: In an exchange of views on public security and law and order, the police made twelve proposals to form an anti-militancy committee comprising teachers and students in each educational institution to curb militancy. The proposals are as follows:

Every educational institution should have an anti-militancy committee consisting of teachers and students.

Co-educational activities like sports, cultural activities, debate competitions need to be strengthened.

Surveillance should be increased by identifying the places where meetings on militancy can be held in educational institutions.

Teachers and students will not be able to stay in the mosque or place of prayers for long.

Students must contact parents if they are irregular.

If there are any books on militancy in the library, it should be burnt.

Teachers and students should take part in the anti-terrorism program.

Academic activities should also have anti-militancy issues.

Must have regular Bengali cultural practices.

If any student is absent without a logical reason, the police should be informed.

If there is a suspicion of involvement in the crime, it should be brought under counseling.

Anti-terrorism research should be done in educational institutions.

In conclusion, it can be said that it is possible to suppress militancy if the bar proposed by the Bangladesh Police is properly followed. Militant activities can hamper a country's development activities. Moreover, militant activities can create various adversities in various fields of socio-economic, political and cultural life. Therefore, by identifying militancy as a national problem, the police as well as all, irrespective of race and religion, must work together.
