The longest match in cricket was the 1939 match between England and South Africa, which was declared the last tie after 14 days.

ক্যাচ ধরায় ভূমিকম্প!
২০০৭ সালের ভারত এবং বারমুডার মধ্যেকার খেলা চলছে। আগে ব্যাট করতে নামা ভারতের রানের গতি এমন ছিলো যে কোনভাবেই রানের গতি থামাতে পারছিলেন না বারমুডার বোলাররা। হঠাৎ ব্যাটসম্যানের ব্যাটে লেগে বল চলে যায় স্লিপে। ফিল্ডার মাটিতে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে ধরে ফেলে বলটি। সাথে সাথে মনে হল যেন ভূমিকম্প হয়েছে। আম্পায়ারও ভাবলেন মাটি কেঁপে উঠেছে। কিন্তু না আসলে কিন্তু ভূমিকম্প হয়নি! আসলে স্লিপের যে ফিল্ডারটি ক্যাচটি ধরেছিলেন তার ওজন ছিলো মাত্র(!) ১৩৩ কেজি। ফিল্ডারটির নাম ডায়ান লেভারক।
ধার করা ব্যাটে বিশ্বরেকর্ড
১৯৯৬ সালের কথা। পাকিস্তানের সাথে শ্রীলঙ্কার ম্যাচ চলছে। পাকিস্তান দলে রয়েছে মাত্র ১৬ বছর বয়সী একজন ক্রিকেটার। ছেলেটি খেলছে তার দ্বিতীয় আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচ। তো দলের সবাই মিলে ঠিক করলো প্রথম উইকেট পড়ার পরই ব্যাট করতে নামিয়ে দেওয়া হবে তাকে। কিন্তু সমস্যা হলো, ব্যাট করার জন্য নিজের ব্যাটই খুঁজে পাচ্ছে না। শেষে ওয়াকার ইউনুসের কাছ থেকে ব্যাট ধার করে ব্যাটিংয়ে নামল। আর নেমেই ব্যাট হারানোর সব রাগ যেন বলের উপরেই ঝাড়ল। মাত্র ৩৬ বলে করে ফেলল সেঞ্চুরী। দ্রুততম এই রেকর্ডটি কার? বলতে পারেন ছেলেটির নাম? ঠিক তাই- শহীদ আফ্রিদি।
পাইলট - গাঙ্গুলী তর্ক
বাংলাদেশের অভিষেক টেস্টে আমাদের পাইলট শেষের দিকে অনেকক্ষন ধরে ব্যাট করছিল,আর অনেক বল খেলছিল কিন্তু রান করছিল ধীরে ধীরে,এদিকে তখনকার অধিনায়ক সৌরভের তো ধৈয্যচুতি হয়ে গিয়েছিল,আর থাকতে না পেরে সৌরভ এগিয়ে এসে পাইলটকে বলল-
সৌরভঃ এই তোমাকে এমন বিরক্তিকর খেলা কে শিখিয়েছে,বল তো বাপু??
পাইলটঃ কেন কে আবার,তোমাদের ঐ গাভাস্কার দাদা,যিনি ওয়ানডেতে পুরো ৫০ ওভার খেলে ৩৪ রানে অপরাজিত ছিলেন!
শচীন টেন্ডুলকার - আব্দুল কাদির(পাকিস্তান) তর্ক
এটা ছিল ১৯৮৯ সাল যখন লিটল মাস্টার কিছুদিন আগেই অভিষেক টেস্ট খেলেছেন পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে মাত্র ১৭ বছর বয়সে, তখনও শচীন ড্রাইভিং লাইসেন্স পাননি। কিন্তু ওই বয়সে তাকে মোকাবেলা করতে হয়েছিল পাকিস্তানের সব বাঘাবাঘা বোলারদের। তো এক টেস্ট ম্যাচে শচীন যখন ব্যাট করতে নামলেন,গ্যালারিতে পাকিস্তানের সমর্থকদের হাতে দেখা গেল বিভিন্ন প্লাকার্ড,একটিতে লেখা- দুধ খাওয়া বাচ্চা...ঘরে গিয়ে দুধ খাও..। শচীন সেদিন দুর্দান্ত খেলছিলেন, মুশ্তাক আহমেদের এক ওভারে দুইটি ছক্কা মারল, এরপর বলে আসল তখনকার সেরা স্পিনার আব্দুল কাদির, কাদির তো টেন্ডুলকারকে চ্যালাঞ্জ জানিয়ে বললেন, পিচ্চি তুমি বাচ্চা বোলারকে (মুশতাক আহমদ) কেন মারছ? পারলে আমার বলে মারো! টেন্ডুলকার নিশ্চুপ থাকলেন, কিন্তু ফলাফল দেখা গেল ওভার শেষে ৬,০,৪,৬,৬,৬, চার ছক্কাসহ কাদিরের ওই ওভারে ২৮ রান!
এক বলে ২৮৬ রান!
১০০ বছর আগে ইংল্যান্ডের মাঠে এই রেকর্ডটি হয়েছিল। সেদিন ভিক্টোরিয়া দলের সঙ্গে অন্য একটি দলের খেলা ছিল। ম্যাচের প্রথম বলেই ভিক্টোরিয়ার এক ব্যাটসম্যানের জোরাল শটে বল বাউন্ডারি পেরোনোর আগেই মাঠের মধ্যে থাকা একটি গাছের উঁচু ডালে আটকে যায়। এর মধ্যেই ভিক্টোরিয়ার দুই ব্যাটসম্যান রানের জন্য দৌড় শুরু করেন। অন্যদিকে, বিপক্ষ দল বল হারিয়ে যাওয়ার সঙ্কেত দিতে আম্পায়ারের কাছে আর্জি জানায়। কিন্তু বল তো গাছের ডালে আটকে! আর স্পষ্ট দেখাও যাচ্ছে। তাই আম্পায়ার আর কী করে বল হারিয়ে যাওয়ার সঙ্কেত দিতে পারেন! বিপক্ষ দলের আবেদনে সাড়া না দিয়ে আম্পায়ার গাছের ডাল ছেঁটে বল পাড়ার নির্দেশ দেন গ্রাউন্ড স্টাফকে। এদিকে অনেক চেষ্টা সত্ত্বেও বল তো আর গাছের ডাল ছেড়ে পড়ে না। তখন গ্রাউন্ড স্টাফ মরীয়া হয়ে বন্দুক থেকে বল লক্ষ্য করে গুলি ছোঁড়েন। বল মাটিতে পড়ে। ততক্ষণে ভিক্টোরিয়ায় ব্যাটসম্যানরা ২৮৬ বার উইকেটের মধ্যে দৌড়ে ফেলেছেন। এরপর ভিক্টোরিয়া তাদের ইনিংসের সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করে। ভিক্টোরিয়াই এই ম্যাচে জয়ী হয়েছিল। যদিও এই ম্যাচের কোনও প্রমাণ নেই।
