If you are a victim of a well-documented marital abuse, and your American spouse threatens to terminate your pending GREEN CARD application (or/and threatens NOT to remove the condition on your two-year GREEN CARD, allowing you to receive a ten-year GREEN CARD, and guaranteeing your path to citizenship), you don't have to endure violence against your person. You can seek relief under the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (VAWA): under VAWA, a battered spouse does NOT need an American sponsor to receive a GREEN CARD or/and become a U.S. citizen. Guess what? The law is GENDER NEUTRAL, meaning that a battered husband is a protected person under VAWA.
