According to the Manusinghata, there are eight (eight) types of marriage-methods described according to the old conditions. E.g.

1. Brahma marriage

2. Butterfly marriage

3. Aryan marriage

4. Random marriage

5. Asura marriage or demonic marriage

. Gandharva marriage

. Vampire or demonic marriage

. Monster wedding

1. Brahma marriage: - The bride is covered with a special cloth, adorned with gold ornaments, etc., after completing the scholarly and virtuous deeds.

2. Butterfly marriage: - "You both behave happily in the domestic religion" - the bride who is given to the groom by the ritual ornaments with this blessing is called butterfly marriage. This marriage practice is now prevalent in Bengali Hindu society.

3. Aryan marriage: - In this marriage, taking only two Geminis from the groom at once and giving the bride by performing the ritual sacrifice is called Aryan marriage. This marriage custom is prevalent only among the Biharis of India.

4. Destiny marriage: - In this marriage, giving a daughter to a priest who has performed Yajna while performing Yajna is called Daib marriage. Most of these customary marriages were performed by the gods at the time of the adoption of the human daughter, not to mention part of the current practice.

5. Asura marriage or demonic marriage: - If a man is attracted to a beautiful young woman, the girl's father pays money to the mother or any of the girl's relatives or relatives with the help of money or in any other way, he marries her; She is called demonic marriage. Demonic marriages are rare nowadays, but people do not understand or know it. However, all this should not be done without the consent of the daughter or relatives.

. Gandharva marriage: - The traditional marriage is called Gandharva marriage in which the bride and groom get married to each other without knowing each other. That is: - Gandharva marriage is when a young man and a young woman fall in love secretly and after some time run away without the knowledge of all the elders.

. Vampire or demonic marriage: - If the daughter is asleep or in a state of intoxication, secretly taking the water of that daughter is called demonic marriage. The current social norms are as follows: - If there is no way for a young person to get married to a Gandharva, then there is another way. This custom was in the era of Batsayan. The two of them will first fall in love, then seize the opportunity to have sex with a woman by secretly consuming drugs and making her unconscious and aroused, then call a priest and marry her. If the woman does not agree - because she will know she has no other choice.

. Demon Marriage: - The name of the demon marriage is to forcefully abduct the crying daughter by killing or injuring her fathers. I am saying in a little more detail: - If it becomes difficult to get a beautiful woman, then she is forcibly taken away from a garden or a path with the help of people and later called a Brahmin and married at home. In ancient times, Kshatriya kings used to marry many women in this way. At present it is almost non-existent.

Of the eight types of marriages mentioned, the first four types - Brahma, Prajapatya, Aryan and Divine marriages are in different mantra order. At present, butterfly marriage is more prevalent. Bengali Hindu marriage refers to the marriages of Bengali Hindus living in the Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura and Bangladesh. There are two main types of marriage in the upper caste Hindu society. Namely, Vedic and secular. Folk rituals are known as "wife rituals". Among the Vedic rituals, however, are Kushandika, Lajhom, Saptapadi Gaman, Panigrahan, Dhritihom and Chaturthi Home. Ritual rituals have nothing to do with Vedic rituals. Folk customs are of one type, region, caste or sub-caste. Among the lower caste Hindus, there are differences in community as well as in the basic rituals of marriage. The bride and groom do not have to try to get married in all these ways. Parents or relatives arrange such marriages. The following are some of the rules and regulations of butterfly marriage in our traditional Hindu society: -

"Wedding Editing Rules"

Bengali Brahmin society has five branches - Radhi, Barendra, Vedic, Seven Hundred and Middle Class. Bengali Kayastha society has four branches - North Radhi, South Radhi, Barendra and Bangaj. Among all these castes and their branches and sub-branches, there are two divisions in the marriage system - Vedic and secular. Folk customs are feminine rituals. For this reason they are known as ‘Stri Achar’. Among the Brahmins who followed the Vedic rites of Sam, Jajuh and Rik Veda, there are not only slight differences in the practice of marriage. Essential among the Vedic rites of Hindu marriage are Kushandika, Lajhom (ritual with Laj or Khai), Saptapadi Gaman, Panigrahan (daughter's water i.e. hand-taking), Dhritihom (holding or holding daughter) and Chaturthi Home. Besides, some Vedic practices like Arundhati Nakshatra Darshan, Dhruv Nakshatra Darshan, Shilarohan etc. are also celebrated. Vedic customs are a key part of statutory scriptural customs and marriage. The rituals of Bengali Hindu marriage are multifaceted. These practices vary by caste, branch, sub-branch and region. There is no addition of Vedic customs with these except Yajna.

"Editing Patipatra"

Patipatra is the first ritual of Bengali Hindu marriage. This ritual is also known as Lagnapatra or Mangalacharan. Patipatra is the ceremony that is held to finalize the dowry and other debts in cash or jewelery if the marriage is solemnized through Ghatak. It is through this ritual that other rituals of marriage begin.

"Edit Pankhil"

Pankhil is the second ritual of Bengali Hindu marriage. It is celebrated right after Patipatra. Pankhil means to officially nail the betel leaf or tie it to the straw. The ceremony is held first at the groom's house and then at the bride's house. The girls and neighbors of the house sing wedding songs in Pankhil ritual. The theme of this song is the marriage of Ram and Sita.

"Edit Dadhi Mangal"

Dadhi Mangal: - Fasting of bride and groom on their wedding day. But fasting is not solitary. Water has provisions for eating sweets. So for the whole day, before sunrise, the bride and groom are fed curd and yoghurt. Of course, now in the society, on Dadhi Mangal, the bride and groom are fed big fish heads and young goats or mutton.

"Yellow on the skin"

Yellow on the body: - In Sanskrit this ritual is called Gatraharidra. In Hinduism, a few things are called auspicious. Such as conch, yellow etc. At first, the bridegroom and the groom are smeared with turmeric. Later that yellow girl was sent home. The girl is smeared with that yellow.

"Editing conch shells and textiles"

Conch bracelet: - On the day before the wedding, the groom goes to the bride's house and gives her gold ornaments, clothes, Sriankur, conch, sidur and Mars items. Then the priest puts the girl in the temple and recites the mantra and puts the conch on the girl. Then the girl follows the rules of the first step of leaving her ancestral home. Then the main ceremony of the wedding started in the afternoon.

"Edit grooming"

Bridegroom: - When the bridegroom comes to get married, the bride welcomes him. Usually the mother of the daughter greets her son-in-law in a dish or kulo with lamps, rice, durba and some other items. The groom is then taken inside the house and fed milk and sweets.

"Edit seven twists"

Saat Pak: The groom is first brought to the wedding mandapa. Then the daughter was brought to the pedestal. Usually the daughter's son-in-law (elder sister's husband) is held by the grandparents. The daughter covered her face with betel leaves. The bride is wrapped around the groom in a pew. The rules of Bangladesh are completely different.

"Edit Good Eyesight"

Good Vision: - In the wedding pavilion, the bride and groom look at each other in public.

"Edit garland change"

Changing garlands: - The bride and groom exchange garlands. This custom means that the two accept each other as life partners. According to Muslims, in the same way a girl has to say "accept". In the same way, according to Christianity, the bride and groom consented to the marriage in front of the church father.

"Edit contributions"

Donation: - The father of the daughter presents the daughter to the son-in-law in Bedmantra The groom also said that he took the responsibility of feeding the daughter and said the main mantra of marriage.

The mantra of marriage is: -

As much as there is a heart, so there is a heart.

If there is a heart, then there is a heart.

Translation of the mantra: -

Wherever = where

Heart = heart

Then = yours

Tadastu = there

Heart = heart

Mom = mine

If = where

Heart = heart

Mom = mine

Tadastu = there

Heart = heart

Then = yours.

Through this mantra, deep unity is formed between husband and wife. Acknowledging equality, belongingness, responsibility and commitment to each other.

"Edit Anjali"

Anjali: - The bride and groom sacrificed themselves. In conventional Bengali it is called khai pora. In the Vedic age, people worshiped various kinds of energy. Agni is one of them.

"Vermilion donation edit"

Donation of vermilion: - The last rite of marriage is that the groom puts vermilion on the forehead of the bride. Bengali Hindu women wear vermilion to wish their husbands well. This vermilion means to hold the chastity of Sati Tulsi and the conch is to acknowledge the existence of the demon Shankachur, the husband of Sati Tulsi.

"Edit Discrimination"

This practice varies from caste to region. Folk customs are of one type, region, caste or sub-caste. Among the lower caste Hindus, there are differences in the rituals of marriage as well as in the basic rituals of marriage.

Regardless of the rules of marriage everywhere and in all respects, this bond has been alive and well since the beginning of its existence and has been an unbreakable means of determination and conviction.
