Preparations for the American War of Independence

At a conference in Philadelphia in 184, twelve of the thirteen colonial states, excluding Georgia, came together to declare their rights and demands to the British and appeal for redress. But the petition did not bear fruit and in 175, thirteen colonies went to war against England. George Washington was made commander-in-chief. An incident needs to be mentioned earlier. As a result of the Tea Act of 183, the British East India Company exported tea to America and sent several ships. When the tea ship stopped at the port of Boston, a group of Native Americans, disguised as Red Indians, boarded the ship and threw the tea bags into the sea. This event is still known as the Boston Tea Party.

Major events of the American War of Independence:

In 175 Lexington, the Americans first went to war against the British. And was able to defeat the British forces very easily. When the Americans besieged Bunker Hill, the British easily defeated William Ho and defeated the Americans. In 1817, George Washington marched against the British in full readiness and drove the British out of Boston and declared American independence on 4 July.

Meanwhile, the British general William captured New York and Long Island. However, the Americans were soon able to drive the British out of New York. New Jersey was rescued in 18. In Sabatoga, the British general Bergain was forced to surrender to the American general Gates with a large army. In the meantime a landmark event took place. France declared the United States an independent state in 18 through a treaty with the United States. Immediately England's war with France broke out. At the same time, Spain teamed up with France to avenge the old enmity. Because at one time Britain had snatched huge Canada from Spain. At the same time that Spain and France jointly laid siege to Gibraltar, Holland began preparing for war against England. In India too, the rise of the Marathas and the Muslim Afghan Ahmad Shah Abdali endangered the British. So the British were helpless and in danger all around. Yet the British did not want to lose a colony like America.

The British achieved a series of successes in the United States by sending General Lord Cornwallis in 181, but Cornwallis was forced to surrender to American and French troops in New York later that year. The surrender of New York Town marked the culmination of the American War of Independence. In 183, the Treaty of Versailles was signed in England with France, Spain and the United States. It was through this treaty that England finally recognized American independence.

Outcome of the American War of Independence:

The American War of Independence had a profound effect on world history. The triumph of freedom and democracy, the abolition of privileges for the elite, the development of free trade and capitalism, the freedom of the individual, the recognition of freedom of religion, the eradication of oppression and exploitation were the results of the American War of Independence. There are also a few aspects to discuss -

First, it must be remembered that this is the first time that a colony has won a war against British imperialism through the American War of Independence. This is where the decline of British rule began.

Second, the practice of democracy and constitutional culture in the world began with the independence of the United States. Humanist ideology emerged.

Third, it is said that the French Revolution took place through the American War of Independence, which is another significant event in human history.

Fourth, America's independence served as a kind of motivation for other colonies. It later helped in the development of nationalism among others. Roughly these were the results of the American War of Independence.

Reasons for the defeat of the British in the American War of Independence:

1. Geographical distance was a major obstacle to British rule in America. And providing adequate supplies and troops during the war was also a challenge that the British could not overcome. As a result, defeat in war became inevitable. Originally the British did not think that the Americans would become so terrible against them.

2. The colonists fought in their familiar geographical environment. As a result, they got some additional benefits but the British did not get any benefits but were plagued by various obstacles.

3. Leadership on the battlefield is an important issue. America got that well. George Washington was a shrewd, intelligent and nationalist leader, and the British generals there were completely professional. So it is seen that as a result all the power fades away towards nationalism.

4. France and Spain were instrumental in the American War of Independence. But no friendly state came forward in the misfortune of the British. The arrogant attitude of a tiger in a forest of the British then collapsed. Through this America gained independence. Which changes the whole world.
