After I gave birth and during pregnancy I gained a lot of weight. I was around 85kg. Prior to pregnancy I was like about 60kg give and take.I decided to loose weight because of several reasons:
The main reason why I wanted to lose weight is because my knees and back were aching when standing too long or whenever I am carrying my child. There are other reasons why I wanted to lose weight and one of them is for me to gain a little of my self confidence back. We all know that when women gave birth there would be lots of changes in their body that may make them insecure and I got my fair share of insecurities after giving birth and decided to do something about it.
Low Carb Diet- My cousin first introduce me to Low Carb Diet when we were talking one day and I mentioned that I want to go on a diet. She added me to this Facebook group about Low Carb. The first thing I did before trying this out is research. I browse and read the guideline on that FB group, watched videos, and read articles about Low Carb. Once I gained enough info about Low Carb I set my goal and started with it.
The first few weeks were difficult because you really have to be strict with the diet. I have to removed most of my favorite food like chocolates, donuts and other sweets. The most difficult part is to remove rice. Rice is a staple food in our country and removing it in my diet is really challenging. This diet requires you to limit your carb intake so your body will enter Ketosis, this is when your body use stored fats as fuel instead of carbs.
I started September 2020 with a 70kg starting weight. First month I lost 5kgs, Second month 4kgs. By November my weight is 57kg. Unfortunately, I was tempted to eat lots of food during holiday season. I found it hard to resist the temptation of good food.
Currently, my weight is still at 57kg. I am just maintaining my current weight. Whenever I feel it I would still eat low carb meals. I am no longer strict with my diet at the moment but still planning to lose weight some time. Maybe I will try to start my diet again by September but still not sure.
Just a few tips though, before starting any kind of diet I would suggest to do some research about it first. After all not all kinds of diet are good for you. Next is Be sure that you are really up to it. Do not do it halfheartedly it will just make it difficult for you. Make up your mind and stick with your goal.
I hope everyone have a good day.
