So the question is what really do we think will be happening or will happen on 21st June 2020.?

As we all know eclipse happens once in a while and very well one will be happening this year and that on 21st of June.

So what really is an "Eclipse...?

1. Eclipse is an alignment of astronomical objects whereby one object comes between the observer (or notional observer) and another object, thus obscuring the latter.

2. Eclipse an alignment whereby a planetary object (for example, the Moon) comes between the Sun and another planetary object (for example, the Earth), resulting in a shadow being cast by the middle planetary object onto the other planetary object.

On the early Sunday morning of June 21 will be a new Moon, when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun and is not normally visible. However, the silhouette of the Moon will be visible from much of Africa, southeastern Europe, and Asia, as the Moon passes in front of the Sun, causing an eclipse.

However, Earth will bear witness to an annular solar eclipse on Sunday, 21 June. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth. When this happens, the moon blocks the light of the sun from reaching the earth. The shadow of the moon is then cast on the earth.

Meanwhile, There are three types of solar eclipses. First, there is a total solar eclipse — which is only visible from a small area on earth. For the phenomenon to occur, the sun, moon and earth must be in a direct line.

Second is the partial solar eclipse when the sun, moon and earth are not exactly lined up.

The solar eclipse of 21 June, however, is an annular eclipse. This happens when the moon is farthest from the earth, according to US space agency NASA. Since the moon is farther away from the earth, it seems smaller and does not block the entire view of the sun. Instead, the moon in front of the sun looks like a dark disk on top of a larger disk and appears like a ring of fire.

The eclipse will be visible from parts of Africa, including Central African Republic, Congo and Ethiopia. South of Pakistan and northern India and China too will be able to see the eclipse.

Note: There are different types of eclipse and they are.

1. Annular Eclipse.

2. Hybrid Eclipse.

3. Total Eclipse.

4. Partial eclipse: In a partial eclipse, the Moon crosses the path of the sun, but does not completely block it out.

5. A solar eclipse is when the sun is covered by the Moon.

Meanwhile total solar eclipse are rare, though they occure somewhere on earth probably every 18months on average and it is estimated that they occure at any given place only once every 360 to 410 years.

it takes approximately 375 years for a total solar eclipse to happen at same location and by comparison, a total lunar eclipse, also known as a "Blood Moon", can be seen from any location approximately every 2.5 years.

Note: A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth.

Let watch out for the eclipse on 21st June 2020.
