If you are a basketball fanatic and an NBA fan then you probably know the name of Vince Carter or also known to his monickers as "Air Canada", "Vinsanity" and "Half Man, Half Amazing". He is the only player in history of the NBA to have been able to play in four different decades starting from his first step on the floor of the NBA in 1998 up to his retirement that becomes early because of the stopped season of the NBA due to covid19 pandemic this 2020.
Carter historical career in basketball began when was playing in high school as he became McDonald's All American. He played college ball with the North Carolina Tar Heels same college team that produce the GOAT Michael Jordan for three years. Then entered the NBA Draft on 1998 and was drafted fifth overall by the Golden State Warriors who right away traded him to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for the fourth overall pick by the Raptors Antawn Jamison together with some cash consideration.
Carter emerged as a superstar the moment his first foot steps on the hard court as he lead the Toronto Raptors in his sophomore year. He won the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year and at the next year won the 2000 All Star Game Slam Dunk Contest and became a member of the USA Olympic Basketball Team that won the gold medal, where in that tournament on the last game of the qualifying round over France he dunk over an opponent a 7 foot 2 tall over the head and it was recognized as the dunk of death.
He led the Raptors in the Playoffs for the 1st time in franchise history in 2000 when they finish in the 5th spot and managed to reach the Eastern Conference Finals but just one shot away to reach the NBA Finals when they loss to Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ERS in Game 7 when he missed the potential game minning shot on the last seconds of the game.
In 2004 Carter was traded to the New Jersey Nets to team up with Hall of Famer point guard Jason Kidd and he continues he offensive dominance there and lots of play off appearance. And while playing on the Nets Carter made one of the most unforgettable dunk over the Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning which Carter said Mourning did not talk to him for more than 7 years after that in your face dunk.
Carter also played for other NBA teams for the Magic, Suns, Mavericks, Grizzlies, Kings and the Atlanta Hawks where he finished his legendary career. He is an eight time NBA All Star, a two time All NBA Team, ROY, Slam Dunk Champion, and in 2016 he was awarded as the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year and that is the History of the Half Man Half Amazing VINCE CARTER.
