New era of NBA Jerseys

In this new era of the National Basketball Association today there are too many new jerseys are coming out that have connections on the cities that the teams are representing. In the old fashion style of the league its either name of their city or name of the teams are written in front of the jerseys. But now it became very different nowadays an example to that is the team Atlanta Hawks which have written "MLK" in front of one of their jersey which means Martin Luther King that is a special edition jersey on this season which visualize global symbol of racial equality in the whole world. Martin Luther King grows up in Atlanta so the NBA, NBA Players Association and Nike made partnership with the Martin Luther King Estate to use it in the league.

While other teams just go back to their classic designs that made only little adjustments on their design. But the two teams that really are noticeable to the eyes of many NBA fanatics are the team of Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks. Because it is really a big puzzle to all on what is the real meaning of cream city and bedstuy? I really don't know how to pronounce the name especially the bedstuy of the Nets which I think chopsuey joke... ☺

But in reality there is a real history that include on both of this two jerseys. So let's talk first about the Milwaukee Cream City jersey, the first thing that will pop up on the mind of fans is milk or ice cream. The state of Wisconsins where the Bucks are located are very famous and popular in lot of things. But the two things that I can say about this is that they are producing milk and the other one is beer. So that is why their baseball team of the city which they called brewers which is playing in Major League Baseball is based on their way of producing beers. While the name Cream City is based on hollow blocks or bricks, because way back before the bricks that had been producing on Wisconsin is all almost color yellow or color cream instead of the typical color red of the bricks that has been using before. For the reason that they are using color cream of bricks for building houses their place became color yellow so that is why it's called cream city.

Second is from the Brooklyn Nets the Bedstuy that is based in one place in Brooklyn that is very notorious and lots of fighting happening before, which they called Bedford Stuybisan in the northern section of Brooklyn. Just like the Atlanta Hawks it was made for one individual which is Christopher Wallace or most popularly known as Notorious B.I.G that is one very famous Hip hop rapper artist before that already die. So based on Nike the color that you are seeing on the collar part and side of the Bedstuy jersey is representing music and culture of the place. So the Bedstuy jersey was made really intended for Notorious B.I.G which he grows up in the city. So that is the history of the jersey of three NBA teams that seems unusual the meaning for us.
