Iron Mike when you heard the name what you think is boxing and not just boxing but brutal boxing as in like biting an ear on the ring. And having a fight that when there's a match you know it is not going to be that long because for a thunderous knock out punch. Well that Iron Mike is a man who's real name is Michael Gerard Tyson or much known as MIKE TYSON.
Tyson is an American pro boxer born June 30, 1966 he became popular as in very popular in the boxing industry in too much way and also in the showbiz world. He became the Undisputed Heavy weight World Champion in 1987 until the year of 1990 and then became the first heavy weight boxer in the history to simultaneously reign and holds the WBA, WBC, and the IBF titles and successively unify and defend them. He also holds the record that stoods until now for the having the youngest boxer in heavyweight division to win the title.
Tyson is very strong and powerful especially in his early days of career in boxing a living proof to that is when he won his first 19 fights by way of knockout. And having 12 of those wins only in the first round. In 1988 Tyson became the lineal Champion when he knock down opponent Michael Spinks in the first round only. Then he successfully defends his titles a total of nine times which included a win over another legendary boxer Larry Holmes.
In 1990 he lost the titles to an underdog opponent by the name of Buster Douglas by a way of knockout in the 10th round. In 1992 he was charged for a rape case and has been sentenced in jail for six years. While in jail he keep his self active and in shape then the time of his released 1995 he made a comeback fights and then in 1996 he became a world heavyweight champ once more joining Muhammad Ali, Floyd Patterson, George Foreman, Tim Witherspoon and Evander Holyfield as the only men in heavyweight division of boxing to reclaimed their titles. In the same year that he regained his title he lost to Holyfield via an 11th round stoppage and had a rematch the following year with ended as a disqualification when he bite Holyfield's ear.
In 2002 he made again another comeback by the age of 35 but loss again via knockout by Lennox Lewis. He retired from boxing in 2006 after a couple of knock out losses again by Kevin McBride and Danny Williams. Tyson filed bankruptcy in 2003. He is known for as the greatest pound for pound king in boxing because of his height that not too tall having dominated once the heavyweight division. He is inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and in the World Boxing Hall of Fame. And now at the age of 54 he is having to have a comeback once again the boxing ring.
