I say with difficulty that there are many children who dream of going to the mosque holding their father's hand and praying but never went to the mosque with their child.
Extreme indifference can be observed in the case of parents in child rearing, which is not desirable in any way. If the parents teach the child politeness, treat him well, take proper care of him, then he can expect such good from the child in the future; Not otherwise.
Parents are the child's first guardian, the first teacher. And the family is his first school. What he sees and learns from this school will depend on whether his future is beautiful or not. So in this case parents have to play the highest role. Most children fall prematurely due to parental negligence. Their tree of life is destroyed in the bud. There is no substitute for the awareness and sincerity of the parents in shaping the beautiful life of the child.
There are many instructions in the Qur'an and Hadith regarding the duties and responsibilities of parents towards their children. The father has several basic responsibilities toward the child. They are-
1. Giving the child the gift of a devout and ideal "good mother".
2. On the seventh day of his birth, he shaved his head.
3. On the seventh day, give the child a beautiful and meaningful Islamic name.
4. To impart basic knowledge of Islam to the child.
5. Arrange her marriage at a suitable place when she is old enough to get married.
In addition, the child's Akika has also been mentioned. However, it does not fall under the basic responsibility. If the father can afford it, it is better to give Akika to the child. The child is healthy, safe and free from disease.
When the child is seven years old, he has to order prayers. If he does not pray even after ten years, he can be punished. This is the command of Allah and His Messenger. The role of prayers in shaping the good character of a child is immense.
One of the duties of a parent is to educate his child. Parents should come forward to make him an ideal citizen. The child must be taught the basic knowledge of Islam. If they cannot do it themselves, they have to ensure the primary education of the child through others.
