The youth squad joins the list of Barça internationals
The entry into the field of Ansu Fati in the second half of Spain's match against Germany was not only something historic for the national team but also affected FC Barcelona with a rebound . With his debut in the national team, Ansu became the 130th player in the history of Barça to play for the Spanish national team, becoming part of a list of illustrious names such as World Champions Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Piqué , Busquets or Pedr or, among many others. The irruption of Fati with the absolute consolidates Barça as the club that has contributed the most players to the Spanish team, with 130, above the 122 for Real Madrid or the 101 for Athletic. They are followed in the 'Top 5' by Atlético de Madrid with 92 and Valencia with 72.
The last Barça player called up by the Spanish team for the first time as a Barça player was Gerard Deulofeu, although in the case of Riudarenes he had made his debut earlier when he was an Everton player. Before, men such as Sergi Roberto, Munir el Haddadi, Marc Bartra, Cristian Tello and Thiago Alcántara passed through such an honor.
Accustomed to calls from the Spanish team with a large presence of Barça players, the current call from Luis Enrique consists of only two Culés players, Sergio Busquets and Ansu Fati. Two paradigmatic cases of La Masia's contribution to the Spanish team, one from the past and present and the other from the future. The European and World champion generation formed by the aforementioned Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Piqué, Busquets, Víctor Valdés, Cesc Fàbregas or Pedro Rodríguez has been giving their place to new generations and now they will be Ansu Fati, Riqui Puig, Carles Aleñá , Juan Miranda Miranda and company who will nurture the Red of talent and quality arising from La Masia del FC Barcelona.
Will Riqui be next?
After Ansu's official debut, the next Barça player to debut with the senior team could be Riqui Puig. If he achieves continuity with Koeman, Luis Enrique could call him soon.
