The High Court has stayed the recruitment of assistant librarians in madrasa educational institutions for three months. At the same time, the High Court bench issued a four-week rule as to why the non-equivalence of educational qualifications of private educational institutions (madrasas) in 2016 will not be declared illegal. Tuesday (September 1) Justice. A bench of Obaidul Hasan and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque issued the stay order.

Three-month suspension of appointment of assistant librarian in madrasas

According to the relevant sources, in the recruitment of the post of ‘Assistant Librarian’ mentioned in column 35 of ‘Private Educational Institutions (Madrasas) Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2018’, only Honors degree in Arabic or Diploma in Library Science is required. As a result, those who have a bachelor's or master's degree in general sciences from colleges and universities are deprived of employment.

For this reason, the general educated diploma holders challenged the validity of the policy. Abdul Awal, Patuakhali g. M. Aminul Islam, Joypurhat Abu Bakkar Siddique, Barisal. A total of 40 diploma holders from different parts of the country, including Jahangir Alam, filed a writ petition in the High Court.

In the writ petition, four persons belonging to the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, the Department of Technical and Madrasa Education and the Department of Madrasa Education were made defendants. Barrister Syed Mohammad heard the writ petition. Jahangir Hossain.

Barrister Syed Mohammad. Jahangir Hossain said, "After hearing the writ petition, the High Court bench on Tuesday (September 1) issued a four-week rule as to why the appointment of assistant librarians in madrasas should not be declared illegal." The court has ordered to suspend the ongoing recruitment process for three months.

According to the victims, the post of assistant librarian is a universal one. So no qualification other than equivalent in its appointment can be acceptable. In policy, access to degree holders only in madrasa educational institutions is a discriminatory and biased decision. This has deprived thousands of ordinary educated people in the country. The wise court has ruled in favor of our case and we are hopeful of a three-month stay. Through the courts, the victims expressed hope that they would soon get back their fair claim ‘equal eligibility’.
