Canada and the Netherlands have announced their support for the Gambier case against Myanmar in the International Court of Justice over the Rohingya genocide.

The announcement was made in a joint statement by Canadian Foreign Minister Franাসois Philippe Champagne and Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Block on Wednesday.

The two countries said in a statement that they would assist in the legal complexities of the case. In particular, the incidents of sexual harassment and abuse of women will be given importance. The statement added that the Gambia has done a commendable job in punishing the Rohingya genocide.

Canada and the Netherlands have called on countries that have ratified the Genocide Convention to support Gambia in this case. The Gambia has filed a lawsuit against Myanmar in the International Court of Justice over the Rohingya genocide last November.

The court issued an interim order in January after hearing the two sides. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Myanmar to take steps to stop the genocide.
