Bird alive

The old man sage knew that if he declared the bird alive, the young man would crush the bird and say that the old man was wrong. On the other hand should the sage pronounce the bird dead the young man would simply release the bird again proving the wise man wrong. So the sage smiled and said we both know that the answer lies in your hand my son. In the same way we have been like the overly skeptical young man.
