The Zodiac Killer is a well known serial killer from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. He would kill people, then write to the media and boast about his deeds or leave ciphers, and til this day, most of it it hasn't been cracked.
He would target young couples who were making out in a private area. He would kill with both knives and guns, on twice occasions he reported the murder on a telephone on the police. He also killed a male cab driver and claimed to have 37 murdered victims.
He is mainly known for the ciphers that were published on the newspaper, he would threaten that many will die, if his letters will not be published on the front page. On 1964, his first victim was the young beautiful girl and so the letter began, he warned everyone to keep the women off the streets and the letter continued until 1974.
The code that he sent in parts to San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner and the Valley Times Herald, that promised about his identification, it was cracked by a History teacher along with his wife.
“I LIKE KILLING PEOPLE BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH FUN IT IS MORE FUN THAN KILLING WILD GAME IN THE FORREST BECAUSE MAN IS THE MOST DANGEROUS ANIMAL OF ALL TO KILL SOMETHING GIVES ME THE MOST THRILLING EXPERIENCE IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN GETTING YOUR ROCKS OFF WITH A GIRL THE BEST PART IS THAT WHEN I DIE I WILL BE REBORN IN PARADISE AND ALL THE I HAVE KILLED WILL BECOME MY SLAVES I WILL NOT GIVE YOU MY NAME BECAUSE YOU WILL TRY TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP MY COLLECTING OF SLAVES FOR MY AFTERLIFE”
The one that is likely to be suspected was named Arthur Leigh Allen, a school teacher. He has the same type writer of the said killer, used to send anonymous letters that was found on his home and he wore a watch that was given from his mother. He told his friend that he is writing a book about a killer, killing young couples and taunting the police with letters, the symbol that is found on his watch, would be the signature of the killer, the circle with a cross on it and the killer would name himself as Zodiac.
The evidence of Arthur being the Zodiac killer is strong, but the DNA was not a match.
The Zodiac Killer was never caught and the case is still unsolved.
