The 3 girls were named Lori Lee Farmer, Michelle Heather Guse, and Doris Denise Milner, between the ages of 8 and 10 was murdered and raped.
2 months before the murder, the counselor of the camp saw that her belongings were raided and her doughnuts were stolen, but inside the empty box of a doughnut has a disturbing note. It said that three of the campers will be murdered, but she treated the note as if it was a prank.
On June 1977, that evening, the three girls searched for a shelter because of a thunderstorm, and it is located as farthest tent from the Counselor's.
In the morning, the counselor found the lifeless body of the girls, sexually assaulted and beaten. Lori and Michelle were battered, while Doris was strangled to death. One of them was sodomized and the suspect raped the two. The bodies of the girl left a trail leading to the showers, 150 yards from the tent.
The suspect of the brutal killings, was Gene Leroy Hart, after his escape on Mayes County. He was sentenced of kidnapping pregnant women and raped one of them. Upon investigation of the murder, his DNA was found from a semen. The local sheriff was certain that Hart was guilty, but the jury absolved him.
On June 1979, Hart collapsed and died because of a heart attack, after lifting weights for an hour in prison.
The murder case is unsolved.
