The birth of the Katipunan is
Andres Bonifacio was also a member of the Philippine League, but he quickly lost hope of pursuing progress through nonviolent means. As Jose Rizal was banished to Dapitan, this feeling was especially heightened. Bonifacio grew adamant that a revolt was the only way that the Philippines could achieve independence.
The' Katastaasang Kagalanggalanga' was then founded by Bonifacio.
The KKK members agreed on the following objectives:
Since announcing the country's independence, the diplomatic aim was to fully isolate the Philippines from Spain.
The moral purpose was to teach good etiquette, cleanliness, sanitation, good morals to the Filipinos, and how to defend themselves from religious fanaticism.
The civic purpose was to inspire Filipinos to assist themselves and to protect the marginalized poor.
The "Kataastaasang Sanggunian" (Supreme Council) was the Katipunan's top governing body. It was under the leadership of a supremo, or president. A "Sangguniang Bayan" (Provincial Council) was in each province and each town had a "Sangguniang Balangay" (Popular Council).

Jose Rizal and the Katipunan
Jose Rizal was never active with the Katipunan organization and operations, but the Katipuneros still respected him as a leader. In reality, the name of Rizal was used as a password among the highest-ranking members of society, who were named Bayani.
During his La Liga Filipina days, Andres Bonifacio had already met Rizal, although Rizal did not know Bonifacio personally. Nevertheless, Bonifacio valued the intellect and talent of Rizal so much that he sent Dr. Pio Valenzuela to Dapitan in June 1896 to obtain advice from Rizal on the proposed revolution.
Rizal told Valenzuela that for a revolt, the time was not right. People were not ready yet, and they didn't have ample weapons. In order to receive financial assistance, he recommended that the Katipunan seek the sponsorship of wealthy and powerful Filipinos first. As the commander of his armed forces, he also favored Antonio Luna, because Luna had a lot of experience and skills in military tactics.
On June 26, Valenzuela returned to Manila and relayed Rizal's advice to Bonifacio, who acknowledged that fighting without enough arms would still be deadly for the Filipinos. There was no halting the Revolt, though. Bonifacio had his men told to train for war. He advised them to store ample food and other materials. With the assistance of Emilio Jacinto, battle plans were made. revolutionary headquarters is proposed to be situated by the seas or mountains to enable, if necessary, a simple escape.
The Katipunan is Discovered
There have long been reports of an underground revolutionary society in circulation, but no credible evidence could be found to confirm them. As far as the Spanish authorities were concerned, the big break came on August 19, 1896, when a member of the KKK, Teodoro Patiño told Honoria, his niece, of the life of the Katipunan. Patiño was a Diario de Manila printing press employee. Honoria was then staying in a Mandaluyong orphanage of nuns. Honoria was so disturbed by this information that she told the Mother Superior of the orphanage, Sor Teresa de Jesus, what her brother had announced. Sister Teresa recommended they follow the guidance of the parish priest of Tondo, Father Mariano Gil.
Father Mariano Gil, joined by several Guardias Civiles, quickly searched the premises of Diario de Manila after hearing Patiño's revelations and found proof of the presence of the Katipunan. The Governor-General was notified swiftly. The printing press was padlocked, arresting hundreds of alleged members of the KKK. Continue to Cry of the Execution of Pugad Lawin & Andres Bonifacio.
