Non-invasive pain relief techniques that work wonders!

We all know pain sucks and nobody likes it, especially when you have chronic pain that never seems to go away no matter what you do. Some people turn to surgery, others go to the doctor and get some pills that mask the pain but never truly get rid of it, but what if there were some ways to avoid all of this? What if there were several non-invasive pain relief techniques that actually worked wonders and didn’t cost you a single dime?

COLD AND HEAT

Many people turn to ice when they have an injury. But recent research shows that alternating cold and heat is better than either technique used alone. Apply a heating pad or hot pack first, then follow with five minutes of cold (either in the form of ice, or by dipping part of your body into cold water). Do not apply heat directly over a burn; instead wrap a clean towel around it and use another towel to absorb excess moisture. A variation on alternating heat and cold, called contrast therapy, involves using one type of therapy and then immediately switching to its opposite: for example, applying hot compresses for three minutes, then wrapping an injured area in a chilled gel pack for two minutes.

BREATHE RIGHT TO EASE PAIN.

Have a migraine or tension headache? A quick, simple trick called the 4-7-8 technique may help ease your discomfort. Here’s how to do it: close your mouth and inhale through your nose for four seconds. Hold for seven seconds. Exhale completely through your mouth for eight seconds. Repeat three times, or until you feel better. Repeat up to three times per day as needed. How does it work? This exercise will promote relaxation—allowing blood vessels in your brain to expand—and activate breathing centers in your brain stem, sending a signal to release dopamine and endorphins, natural chemicals that ease pain and promote feelings of well being... ...

EXERCISE

While it may not feel good to exercise when you have chronic pain, engaging in physical activity can actually help relieve some of your discomforts. Exercise increases blood flow to sore muscles and joints, and it releases feel-good endorphins. Whether you go for a walk or hit up a gym class, there are many different types of exercise to choose from if you want to be more active while living with chronic pain.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Traditional physical therapy involves professional rehabilitation, usually carried out by a physiotherapist or physical therapist. It includes strategies like heat and ice to reduce inflammation, stretching exercises, acupuncture, taping and strengthening exercises. In some cases it can also include electrical stimulation of muscles to increase blood flow and muscle contraction. A few studies show that it’s more effective for chronic pain than over-the-counter drugs and other nonopioid methods such as TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation).

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

One of the main reasons people visit occupational therapists is for back pain, so it makes sense to talk about how OT can help in alleviating back issues. Occupational therapists are experts at reducing stress, improving posture and alignment, and promoting better movement patterns. This means that they’re well suited to helping people manage a wide range of musculoskeletal ailments, including back pain. Occupational therapy can be used as a stand-alone treatment or as a supplement to other types of therapy like massage or yoga.

MIND BODY TECHNIQUES

No one wants to deal with pain. Aches and pains can be debilitating, preventing us from living a normal life. Whether you’re dealing with a back injury or chronic joint pain, there are lots of natural ways to cope and heal naturally so you can get back to doing what you love most..Find someone who has dealt with your pain before and talk to them about it .

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, these non-invasive, pain relieving techniques will help you feel better in no time. Try them out and let me know how they work for you! I'd love to hear from you. Have a wonderful day. 🙂
