Immediately the other warriors throw their spears at the lion, usually killing it before it can attack them. The first man to draw blood is considered to be the killer of the lion.
Another African tribe, the Ankole, believe that when their King dies, he will become a lion. 'So they never kill a lion if they can avoid it, for fear of that they may be killing their previous king. If a lion kills one of the ankole people or their cattle, they go to one of their priest and ask what they should do. The priest is supposed to know whether the lion is indeed the dead king or not. If the priest say he is the dead king, and attacking them because he is angry with them. But if the priest says that it is just an ordinary lion, then three or four hundred of the Ankole get together, surround the lion , and kill it with their clubs.
