Spirit of labour day !!
The celebrations of certain day has rich history as human has . Different communities / nations/ tribes / UN arrange and celebrate different days under different themes like religious, independence and causes.
Last night my younger doll came and clap over my hand. She Said " Yeah!!! We have two days off from school Sunday and Monday. ( She is from those kind of students which feels too much excitement over day off from school). I asked her " why Monday?" She replied " it is labour day".
Then she speaks a sentence which put me in deep thinking. She says" but Dad , how sad thing is for whom we have day off from schools , they didn't have and work even on Thier own day ". And that is true physically as we notice that most of labour are unaware of this day and almost 95% employer didn't pay any extra penny to workers on this day or some where even didn't allowed to raise hand in favour of their rights.
Labour Day is a holiday celebrated in many countries around the world on May 1st. It is a day to recognize and honor the contributions and sacrifices of workers. The origins of Labour Day can be traced back to the 19th century when workers in the United States and Canada were fighting for better working conditions and shorter workdays.
The spirit of Labour Day is one of solidarity, appreciation, and recognition of the hard work and contributions of workers. It is a day to celebrate the achievements of workers and to acknowledge the importance of their role in society.
But unfortunately except Canada, Switzerland and Finland where it is official holiday for all included private sector. All other countries not giving true recognition to labour. It should be but the line between rich and poor is big hurdle even humanity seeks.
Only photo sessions, walk of rulers, rallies by NGOs , symposium of politicians, speeches of wardens and fake promises of authorities remains as assets of the day where nothing happened on ground reality, laws implementation and basic civil rights. No one is serious, sincere and honest to do some good things for labours. They are rightless , helpless and will remain because the voice didn't reach to palaces.
