From school, we were asked this all time favorite question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" We either recite it in front of the class or write it in a whole piece of paper to explain why and how did you end up choosing that career path. That question ignites the torch inside each of us, letting ourselves to dream what we want to be in the future.
Basic answers might be to become a teacher, doctor, Flight Attendant, Police, Engineer and long lists of profession to mention...and don't forget those silly answers by your oh-so-causing-headache classmates.
Truth is, Kids are significantly influenced by what they see around them. If their parents are inclined to medicine, they may want to follow suit, or if it's in the legal field, they may choose to. Although, that depends on the children.
Before, I wanted to fly all around the world-flight Attendant. And then it gradually changed into becoming an Astronaut because you know being one sounded so cool. Later on, I realized that i wanted to be an architect since I would like to design our dream house. Yet time flew faster and all of those dreams flew away as well. I've changed my mind. I just want to be rich and hodl bch🙈. HAHAHA.
Have you noticed it? As we grow older, we were changing preferences and path to take. Instead of aiming to make it to the medical field, we realized that we can't afford it and another reason is it's not a joke of a profession. When we were younger, we never thought about the core standards needed in that particular field of profession. We were only dreaming that time and as we reach the age to decide, taking in consideration the financial capability of our family, and the real dream that we've developed along the way, we'll change what we've written and said before. Although there may be some instances that what you've dream before is still your dream right now. But some of us, have changed nonetheless.
It is a matter of realization of what we really want. As we go on with our lives, we will face struggles and motivations from people we meet. After attending secondary school, being able to meet professionals in different field and knowing the story of how their profession work, we'll be either encouraged or discouraged to follow their steps.
Now, how far did that "What do you want to be when you grow up?" evolve in your life? Care to share?

Life is about that. To learn and make decisions as we grow. In the end we ended up in a completely different race than what we had almost always wished for.
