Daily, we are not flooded with positive images, thoughts, and ideas that contribute to the success we desire. It's the opposite. In the media negativity is the norm.

You just have to watch the news or read the newspaper to see how many positive stories you have. If it's two or three for every 1000 posts, that's a lot.

Negativism is something that gets the attention of average people.

Fear and worries keep people hooked on these media. With so much negativity surrounding us, it is not hard to think that many of us gravitate around it, filling our driven minds and stress.

The truth is: negativity will get you nowhere.

The key to progress in life, in your career, in your relationships, and your personal development; is having a consistently positive mind. Staying positive is truly difficult and it is much more difficult to determine whether or not we are being positive, depending on the environment in which we find ourselves.

Here are 5 tips to stay as positive as possible:

Stop doing what doesn't make you happy

This is number one on the list, for a simple reason: we spend a lot of time and energy dedicating ourselves to things that just don't make them happy, and we don't see the connection between those things, our happiness, our fulfillment, and our dreams.

Even if that which does not make you happy is your job, your partner, or your studies. There are no excuses, whatever activity you do, and what makes you unhappy, you must ELIMINATE IT.

Surround yourself with people who help you grow

It is essential to advocate for people, activities, and places that allow you to grow, be happy, and effectively achieve the fulfillment that you want so much in life.

Check the way you perceive the world

When you want to transition from a negative to a positive perspective, you need to spend time thinking about how we analyze and perceive the world around us. Our way of seeing things can be consciously decided and changed. Once you realize this, you can certainly dedicate more of your time to what is positive, to see the opportunities and possibilities that you have in life.

Realize that you can change your destiny

This is one of the most difficult for the vast majority of people. Over and over again I hear people say "I can't, this doesn't depend on me." And they couldn't be more wrong. It is incredible, people believe that they have no responsibility for what happens in their lives, and prefer to choose to leave that responsibility to a higher being, to other people, or luck.

One of the things that I always used to be, was to seek happiness outside of myself. I was unhappy, and I thought that with other people, or even through buying objects, I could increase my levels of wholeness. It wasn't long before I realized that this was untrue. It takes a lot of work to create a positive mindset and to achieve happiness. And all that work must be done within us.

However, if you commit to your happiness, and your positivism, it will be extremely possible to achieve what you want so much, disconnecting yourself from everything that can negatively affect you, and plugging your life into the most positive energy sources.
