More Pessimist than Optimist

A few days ago, my brother and I had a casual, teasing conversation, until we finally started talking about a few incidents involving the word "pessimist-optimist." I do not remember where this conversation started, we suddenly came to the conclusion that under certain circumstances in life we ​​should be more pessimistic than optimistic.

How's that? Isn't it better to be optimistic than pessimistic?

I used to think that too, optimism is better than pessimism. People who are easily pessimistic look like sinners. I used to think, why do people like negative thoughts? But finally I realized that people with optimistic and pessimistic nature must exist in this world. If I remember correctly, I often put myself in a pessimistic position. Hope you know, each trait has its own role and it would be perfect to have both. So… when is pessimism better than optimism?

For those of us who want to avoid disappointment, it helps put us in a pessimistic state, especially in the face of something uncertain. For example, after taking an exam, we can only expect a share of the results. As pessimists, we must feel that we cannot afford to take the exam early. The image of bad grades kept hovering in my head. Then there are two possibilities. One, be aware of low scores; and two, very happy because the value is good. In a case like this, being an optimist would have the opposite effect. The two possibilities are one, knowing that the value is good; and two, unfortunately to get a bad score.

There is a difference between optimism and pessimism in the face of reality. Pessimists are those who have prepared for the bad, while optimists are those who have prepared for the good. A pessimist has put himself in a downfall, so how can he fall? So, pessimism prevents us from feeling disappointed because we see the disappointing things first rather than the disappointment itself.

Although pessimism is best, I always remind you not to be stuck being pessimistic forever. A pessimist carries a load of thoughts that are not necessarily true. A pessimist also tends to avoid because it makes the environment less enthusiastic. So if you want to be pessimistic or optimistic, you always have to look at the circumstances.
