The word emotion comes from the Latin word emovere, which means moving away. The meaning of this word implies that the tendency to act is absolute in emotions.

About Emotions, sometimes we tend to think of it as an overreaction to the lack of acceptable behavior that we receive, because many also always associate the word emotion only with feelings of anger or disappointment.

There are several types of emotions:

  • Anger: ferocious, raging, hateful, irritated, irritated

  • Sadness: sad, sadly, depressed, gloomy, melancholy, self-love, hopeless

  • Fear: anxious, nervous, worried, anxious, feeling very scared, alert, uneasy, horrified

  • Enjoyment: happy, carefree, satisfied, carefree, entertained, proud

  • Love: acceptance, friendship, trust, kindness, close feelings, devotion, respect, intimacy, love

  • Surprised: gasped, surprised

  • Annoyed: contemptible, disgusted, fed up, nauseous, dislike

  • Shame: embarrassed heart, upset

So various kinds of emotions that encourage individuals to respond or behave towards the existing stimulus. By seeing this situation, it is important for every individual to have emotional intelligence to make life more meaningful and not make life lived in vain.

Based on this description, it can be concluded that emotion is a feeling (affect) that encourages individuals to respond or behave towards stimuli, both originating from within and from outside themselves.

Emotional intelligence is very much influenced by the environment, not sedentary, can change at any time. For this reason the role of the environment, especially parents in childhood, is very influential in the formation of emotional intelligence.

EQ skills are not opposed to IQ skills or cognitive skills, but both interact dynamically, both at the conceptual level and in the real world. In addition, EQ is not so influenced by heredity.

People who are able to read feelings and non-verbal cues are more able to adjust themselves emotionally, are more popular, are more easily willing, and are more sensitive. Someone who is able to read the emotions of others also has high self-awareness. The more able to be open to his own emotions, able to recognize and acknowledge his own emotions, then that person has the ability to read other people's feelings.

People who are great at building relationships will be successful in any field. People succeed in relationships because they are able to communicate smoothly with others. These people are popular in their environment and become fun friends because of their communication skills.
