Tembilahan is one of the Capital Districts in Riau Province, to be exact the capital of the Indragiri Regency downstream.
If you arrive here, then cross a lot of bridges because almost every few tens of meters there must be a bridge. Did you know, the bridges crossed the ditches (in Malay means river) about 10 to 20 meters wide. These trenches are made as irrigation for coconut plantations. These trenches have been around for hundreds of years.

There is a unique and beautiful bridge that will surely welcome your arrival, indicating that you are approaching Tembilahan city center.
This bridge is called the Indragiri bridge. The bridge, which was built for 3 years, divides the Indragiri river with a length of more than 1500 meters. This bridge has a magnificent and charming architecture, not least with the bridge in the city of Sydney, Australia.

Tembilahan is the biggest coconut producer in Indonesia. Unlike the other cities in Riau, which are predominantly inhabited by Malays, the majority of Tembilahan residents are ethnic Banjars who migrated from South Kalimantan a few centuries ago.

Very nice natural features. But are the bridges and rivers in Tembilahan actually thousand in number or it's just a hyperbolation?
