Increasing the capacity of the community in dealing with the Industrial Revolution 4.0, digital literacy is useful to counter false information and false news that is spread on the internet.

Many internet users in the world today easily believe in the truth of the information in cyberspace without first checking. This is why lies are easily spread by senders and recipients, as discussed by the 2002 Nobel Prize winner in Economics Daniel Kahneman in his work Thinking, Fast and Slow.

Digital literacy will be useful for checking the accountability and correctness of the information. With the coming of the internet era for everything, namely the expansion of internet connections to various goods, without the ability of digital literacy internet users will have difficulty utilizing the information they get and even shifted their focus to notifications that disrupt their productivity.

The terminology of information and communication technology is becoming increasingly ambiguous and requires redefinition today. Imagine, nowadays objects such as watches, cars, refrigerators, to spot parking areas can also produce data and information in digital format.

Although the main function of these objects is not as a communication tool, they can now also "talk" to each other. For example, traffic lights can automatically set the duration of lamp changes based on the road sensor. Our watches can vibrate when cooking in the kitchen is cooked.

This condition is called by various technology experts Luigi Atzori, Marina Pticek, and Claudio Colleta as the internet era for everything (internet of things, IoT). In general, the internet for everything is characterized by an expansion of internet connectivity that no longer only connects laptops, tablets, or cellular, but also other objects that were not originally used as communication tools.

In the internet age for everything, various information management journals in the world assume that people's lives today will experience hyper-connectivity (hyperconnectivity). This situation illustrates the conditions when each technology is able to store, analyze, and manage digital data while connected to the internet network.

With this interacting intelligence feature, the automation and interoperability functions of technology will be strengthened. This also affects humans to increasingly depend on and addict their smartphones.

Notifications from reminders, e-mail, or chat applications that keep popping up all the time will transform how humans, individually or organizationally, behave, work, and make decisions).

Cal Newport, a young professor from Georgetown University, in his book Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World says the ability to focus on the future is becoming increasingly scarce amid the rise of addictive device notifications. The more applications you download, the more difficult it is to overcome addiction to excessive cell phone use.Digital literacy tends to be narrowly understood which is limited to mastery in the use of technology alone. Digital literacy should also include other critical aspects such as data awareness, data analysis capabilities, and the ability to focus (deep work).

Although users will get a variety of benefits from the synchronization process, there are other consequences that must be considered.

We are not only literate in understanding the consequences of digital data dissemination, but also understanding incoming data to become useful information. In the internet age for everything, it becomes a challenge to digest incoming data with large volumes, speeds, and varieties.
