Karina Nebula! Karina is a special star in the constellation. Its distance from Earth is 8,500 (2,300 parsecs) light years. The word karina is Latin, meaning keel of a ship. Keel means the bottom of the ship. A special piece of metal made to keep the ship stable from the waves of the sea.

The name of a constellation was Argo Navis. Argo means ship.

This was named after Ptolemy. Due to the large number of constellations, the name was abolished and the constellation was divided into three parts.

E.g.

1 carina (keel) means ship.

2 puppis means the back deck of the ship.

3 vela means sail.

Eta Karina is the strangest star ever discovered in our galaxy. This star has long been a subject of extreme curiosity to all professional and amateur astronomers for its unusual behavior.

Initially, its mass was 150 times that of the Sun. The surface temperature was 15,000 Kelvin. Edmund Haley first listed the star in 16 AD.

It was the fourth brightest star in 1830. It then gradually faded. Its brightness increased again in 1820 AD.

In 1830, John Herschel reported that the star's brightness was gradually increasing. Herschel's observation was correct.

Its brightness increased to 1837 and reached its first level, and in 1843 its brightness reached -0.6. The star is thought to have exploded into a supernova at this time. This time the star ranked second in the entire space in terms of brightness.

Note that Lubdhak was the first in terms of brightness. In 169 AD, its brightness increased to the sixth level. Due to this increase in brightness, scientists continued to study the star.

At one point in the study, Enrique Gaviola of the Cোrdoba Observatory in Argentina announced that Eta Carina was essentially a nebula-encrusted star. And this star exploded in 1843.

That is why the brightness of the star increased at that time. The cosmic clouds and dust around Eta Karina are named the Karina Nebula.

The star was observed in detail with the help of the Hubble telescope in 1994. What is known from this observation is that there is basically a covering of giant rolling clouds on the outside of this star, from where the mass of gas comes out. The speed of getting out of the gas mass was 15 million miles per hour.

At first, astronomers thought that these gaseous bodies might be hollow. But observations have shown that there is a lot of cosmic dust inside them. This cloud constellation looks a lot like a human lung.

This mass is thought to have formed from the two poles of the two stars. Astronomers point to a number of reasons behind the lumpy gain. These include the star's strong magnetic field, intense rotational speed, and the effects of other stars.

Since the eruption, objects have not been ejected directly from its equatorial region, but from two poles. Some fan-like parts can be observed rotating in this gaseous body.

It shows three mysterious dots. These three dots are moving away at a speed of 100,000 miles per hour. There are also some tiny objects in this cloud.

These are moving 30,000 miles away from the star. From this star, 0.0003 solar masses are decreasing every year. If the mass decreases in this way, this star will disappear at some point. This strange star will no longer be seen in space.
