The Bulalangaw de Parina, Inc. (formerly Parina De Magallanes Magallanes LGBT Association from 2017 to 2022) is an official, non-partisan council of LGBT in the locality whose mission is to uphold and protect the rights of its members and empower them to reach their full potential as potent and able members of the society selflessly doing their share in community-building within the municipality of Magallanes and beyond. It has been a great privilege to have hosted The Upland Pitch Season 1 in the past 4 months until last night's Season Finale. To have been part of every aspirant's journey as they emerge victorious in the weekly competition as Pitch Holders and Grand Pitch Qualifiers (to later, for some, Wild Card Winners) up to being Grand Pitch Finalists is truly an ineffably both a humbling and awe-inspiring opportunity. My gratitude to Mr. & Mrs. Gerardo and Jane Acdal, Owner and Manager of The Upland Leisure Hub , to my BTS Fam (special mention to Dir. Albert Realce Honrubia and Pocholo Carpio ) for the weekly bond, to our Resident Pitch Makers Engr. Joey H. It is the strongest, the most durable of natural fibers. It is inflammable and that is why it is used in cars and in cell phones, among its many other uses. It is able to withstand the effects of water without deteriorating. A motivational story. The elephant and the rope. As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by a small rope tied to their front leg it was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were. Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? Failure is part of the process, you can take a break, find yourself again. But don’t be like the elephants and never try again.
