There is no fear of unemployment if there is technical education
The results of SSC examination were published on 31st May. Just as it is an important chapter in life, it can also be a turning point. Because it is seen from this level that many people change their destination or journey depending on the actual context of employment and test results.
This year's context is different than other years. Almost all of us know that the world to come will be technologically advanced and change-oriented. However, it was not at all predictable that this change would be so rapid due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 outbreak. Those who have passed the SSC exam have planned their careers keeping in mind the world or context for so long that in just two-three months it has changed radically. In line with this, future plans have to be rearranged. And in this plan, technical skills should be given importance.
Those who have passed SSC this year, if they want to enter the career quickly, they can think seriously about the technical education institutions before stepping forward. There are more than 450 public-private polytechnics in Bangladesh, where it is possible to get admission in SSC after passing SSC and get a place as a diploma engineer in government or private, domestic or foreign institutions within 4 years. Not everyone will study or get a chance in technical education. Or in spite of the opportunity to study in general education. We have already noticed several changes. Such as online classes, cloud based learning, online admissions and exams, home or virtual office, online meetings, live streaming, online interviews, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, robotics, virtual reality, augmented reality ,Experts are almost certain that all the action plans will be carried out in the future through the use of technology like blockchain, big-data, etc., and we have seen this in practice in the last few months. Its use will increase further in the future and will change and improve. In this changed context, those who are accustomed to using technology or familiar with this culture will be ahead.
This time, those who are on SSC parole will have a workplace that has not yet begun. New technologies, which may not have yet been discovered, will solve problems that do not yet exist. Technologies that seem very modern and effective to us at the moment may seem old and stagnant in 5-6 years.
The number of technology-based jobs in Bangladesh has increased a lot in the last 5 years, but the number of technology-based workers is very low compared to that. After getting a degree in general education, young people have to write their names in the list of educated unemployed. One of the aspects of polytechnic education system is that there is no session jam and the curriculum is completed within the stipulated time. Since polytechnic is a technology based curriculum, it plays an important role in the development of a student's technology knowledge. But most parents have no idea about the polytechnic education system. In this case, the guardian of the polytechnic or technical education system of Bangladesh has to take some responsibility of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. In the present and future world, technical skills will play a big role. For that, the curriculum and teaching method of technical education must be brought under change.
Remember, just because we lack awareness, we cannot take advantage of the opportunities that surround us. After passing, we will prepare for a job or business, we probably don't have that time anymore. This is something our students and parents need to understand from this moment on. Finally, I would like to say one thing for sure, those who have technical skills cannot be touched by unemployment
