The word ‘eve teasing’ means ‘eve’, ‘teasing’ means teasing or annoying. Simply put, eve-teasing means harassing women. However, the matter is not so simple. The word 'Eve' in the sense of the mythical primordial mother Eve refers to the entire female race. Eveteasing is mainly used in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Although "eveteasing" seems to be a poetic word indicating harassment of women, its scope and horror are wide. However, the issue of eve-teasing received more attention in the media in the 80's. But it's actually been growing steadily since the '60s. When more and more girls start going to school and work.
Eveteasing is a picture that still floats in our eyes. Some girls are going to school and some of the talented boys in the neighborhood are blowing two words in different gestures or whistling. But in reality, eve-teasing is not limited to this. We must first realize the magnitude of eveteasing.

The ugly face of eve-teasing started appearing in India in the 60's. However, politicians or policy makers in Muslim-majority countries take a little longer to see or understand it. In Bangladesh, in 1986, The Dhaka Metropolitan Police renamed Eveteasing as "Women Teasing".
Since then the matter has come to the notice of the law. The level of eveteasing continues to increase in the society. As it once reached heinous crimes such as acid terrorism, rape and murder.

According to the penal code, any comment, gesture or act for the purpose of decency can be punished with imprisonment for up to one year or fine or both. According to the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act, illegal sexual intercourse or indecent assault is punishable by not more than 10 years but a minimum of three years rigorous imprisonment and an additional fine.
In addition, according to the mobile court law, if the crime has been committed before the magistrate, then the offender can be punished. But is it possible to remedy eve teasing only by imposing a punishment that is almost exemplary? This question is now the conscious people of the society.
Today, along with men, a large number of women have played an important role in the development of society and the state. However, in many cases, eve-teasing becomes an obstacle in the way of development and success of women's individuality. Many potential women, children and adolescents are getting infected with a terrible social disorder like eve-teasing. In order to prevent this disease from taking the form of an epidemic, it is time to cure eve-teasing.
Every family can play the biggest role in protecting the society from the horrible scourge of eveteasing. Because we get the primary idea of the difference between good and evil or moral education from the family. You have to be initiated in moral education from a young age. There was a time when childhood learning was practiced, it was taught “I wake up in the morning and say to myself, I want to get better all day long. But in the course of time it is on the way of extinction. Instead, children from many families are shown Western movies, Indian serials full of family politics and English movies full of sexual tickles.
If we cannot get rid of this, social degradation will take the final form. The teacher community can also play a proactive role in preventing eveteasing, but it should not be a carbon copy of Parimal or Hussain Ara.

In our patriarchal society, women who are victims of eve-teasing are looked down upon with a lot of contempt, thinking that it would not have happened if you did not wear the veil properly or go out wearing a T-shirt or a fatwa. But the girls wearing sari and selwar kameez are not being harassed? So we have to get out of this misconception. In addition to teaching family ethics, children should be encouraged in religious education. The Holy Qur'an says, "And do not commit adultery, for it is an indecency and an evil way." (Surah Bani Isra'il, 32)
The indifference of political parties is largely responsible for the spread of cancer in our society. It is often seen that eve teasers have some political identity. But we have to get out of this practice. Because there can be no group of criminals. Every political party must adhere to the belief that punishment is inevitable, no matter which party the culprit belongs to.
In the meantime, many young victims of eve-teasing have chosen to commit suicide out of shame and hatred, and society is watching the survivors. As a result, many promising lives are being hidden in the corner of the house. Family members often blame him. Even though many women in our society still achieve success in their own right, she is teased by commenting on various characteristics behind this success. For this reason, many potential women are still hesitant to present themselves in the workplace. As a result, our state is being harmed, our country is being harmed.
If we want to get rid of this situation, we have to get rid of eve-teasing from the society. And in this work every woman has to raise her voice collectively. In order to establish herself well, every woman has to be smart or modern and refrain from destroying her own dignity. Advertisements in various newspapers and magazines should refrain from presenting women naked or half-naked. We have to eradicate the subculture imported from abroad in the name of culture. Extensive activities need to be undertaken for moral education and moral character building.
In this case, various organizations including educational institutions, clubs, social organizations, student organizations, NGOs have to take the lead. Law enforcement needs to be brought under more sincerity and accountability in this regard, millions of imams and scholars of the country have to be employed; Teachers need to be alert and aware.
Women sisters, women brides, they are not consumable products, but an invaluable blessing of Allah Ta'ala to get respect and love. Only by cultivating this belief in our society can we get rid of eveteasing.
Even a few decades ago, the children of a polite house would be ashamed to think of harassing a girl on the street. If the news of such a crime reached the ears of the guardian, he would punish the child with his own hands. There was social rule in every neighborhood. The elders of the neighborhood used to rule when they saw someone's child committing a crime. Now such images are rare. That is why the prevalence of eveteasing has increased.
Now not only school colleges on the streets, but also Dhaka University, the highest educational institution in the country, girls are not safe. The nation wants to get rid of this terrible situation, this is the expectation of the people that women will be in their seats of honor. This is not the case with women in the past. But now women are coming forward, being defendants, taking refuge in the law, building social movements, so we know a lot more. Many women have endured such heinous crimes in the past in silence. Many incidents have remained hidden from the eyes of the people which have left the victim in a state of shock.
Today that situation has changed. Being aware of rights. Building self-reliance. Next to him are his family members; There are feminist organizations, there are various governmental and non-governmental organizations including the Ministry of Women, Children and Women's Affairs. Above all, the present Prime Minister of the women-friendly government, Sheikh Hasina has taken various programs for the empowerment of women. Which has made women more self-confident and self-reliant.
Even after all this, evil social ills like eve-teasing often come to the fore in some parts of the society. Destroys some potential life. Silently, there are obstacles in the way of developing some possibilities. Failure to eradicate this poisonous tree of eve-teasing will ultimately impede the path to women's smooth success, a source of great potential for the state. Which is a thunder signal for the development of a nation.
Finally, every family needs to be more responsible for the eve-teasing remedy. Children, parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and all must come forward. You must bring the child to account for what he or she is doing. If the child has reached a certain age, special attention must be paid to him. He needs to be counseled by a friend.
