Have you been to a trip abroad?
Where did you go?
How was your experience?
What did you learn about that trip?
March 2018, I and my best friend flew to Thailand for a short vacation. It was our first ever trip abroad. We were so delighted! We thought we're all prepared but as time went by some problems started to show up which taught us very important lessons in life especially in travelling.
First Problem / Lesson : We exchanged some of our money ( Peso - Baht )in the airport of Thailand. We were shocked with the value of our money. We ended up having very little money. We did not know that it should be like this ( Peso - US Dollar - Baht )
Second Problem / Lesson : We took a taxi from the airport to our hotel. It was quite expensive compared to a Grab taxi. (Tip: Grab taxi is very convenient and affordable to go around the city.)
Third Problem / Lesson: We spent half of our second day roaming around to find a money changer. We found some but the exchange rate was very low. We did not have any choice. As a result, half of our day was wasted.
Fourth Problem / Lesson : We were picky with our foods. Not really sure is our stomachs could take them in. Because of that, we were not able to enjoy the real taste of Thai food.
We had lots of misfortune on our first experience abroad but it did not mean that it was an awful trip. We did enjoy it! And, we truly treasure the lessons that we learned from it. Also, we want to help other people to avoid these mistakes and just enjoy their vacation so this article is for all of you guys who are first time travellers.
Hope you enjoy it!
